איים בזרם (באנגלית: Islands in the Stream) הוא ספרו האחרון של ארנסט המינגוויי. הספר יצא לאור ב-1970, תשע שנים לאחר מותו של המינגוויי. הספר תורגם לעברית על ידי אהרן אמיר, והמהדורה החדשה על ידי יואב כ"ץ. חלק מחוויות חייו של המינגוויי נתנו השראה לסיפור, חייו באיים הקריביים וחוויותיו כמתנדב בחיפוש אחר צוללות גרמניות במלחמת העולם השנייה, באותו אזור.

עלילה ומבנה הספר

הרומן בנוי משלושה חלקים.

  • החלק הראשון, "בימיני" (Bimini), מתאר מספר שבועות בביתו של גיבור הסיפור, תומאס האדסון. האדסון הוא צייר מצליח המתגורר על אי הנופש האקזוטי בימיני דרומית לפלורידה[1], אשר בעברו לחם במלחמת העולם הראשונה[2] ובמלחמת האזרחים בספרד[3]. שלושת בניו הצעירים, החיים בנפרד ממנו מגיעים אליו, ויחד עמו ועם חבריו יוצאי הדופן, מבלים את חופשת הקיץ.
  • החלק השני, "קובה" (Cuba), הוא פרק קודר ובו האדסון, למוד סבל, משרת כקצין מודיעין ומבצעים מיוחדים במשרד לשירותים אסטרטגיים במלחמת העולם השנייה. הוא מגיע לחופשה קצרה בהוואנה, חופשה שאת רובה הוא מבלה בשתייה בבאר אפלולי בעיר. בהמשך מתואר מפגשם של האדסון וגרושתו, המחדשים את אהבתם[4].
  • החלק השלישי, "בים" (At Sea), הוא סיפור פעולה הדוק ומפורט, המתאר את קרב המוחות בין אנשי הצוללות הגרמניות בים הקריבי ובין האדסון וצוותו, אנשי המשרד לשירותים אסטרטגיים, אשר צדים אותם[5].
