שון פול ראיין פרנסיס הנריקז (באנגלית: Sean Paul Ryan Francis Henriques; נולד ב-8 בינואר 1973), הנודע בקיצור שמו שון פול כשם הבמה שלו, הוא זמר ומפיק מוזיקלי ג'מייקני.

פול מתמחה בעיקר בסגנון הדאנסהול, שמקורו בג'מייקה, ושאיתו הוא משלב בשיריו מקצבי R&B, ראפ, היפ-הופ ואף רגאיי.

ביוגרפיה

שון פול ראיין פרנסיס הנריקז נולד וגדל בעיר הבירה קינגסטון שבג'מייקה, למשפחה נוצרית-קתולית בעיקרה. שני הוריו הם ספורטאים ילידי-ג'מייקה. סבו של אביו הגיע ממשפחה יהודית-ספרדית מפורטוגל שהיגרה למקום במאה ה-17 ואשתו (סבתא רבתא של שון) הייתה ממוצא גרמני, אנגלי ואפרו-ג'מייקני. אמו, פרנס, היא ציירת, ושחיינית פרפר בעברה. רבים מבני משפחתו הם שחיינים ושחקני כדורמים.

אף על פי שהתחנך כקתולי, פול למד גם בבית הספר הפרטי היהודי "הלל אקדמי" שבג'מייקה.

קריירה

סינגל הבכורה של שון פול הוא ""(Baby Girl (Don't Cry" שיצא ב-1996. הסינגל זכה להצלחה בג'מייקה ובעקבותיו הוציא להיטים נוספים. בשנת 1999 החל שון פול למשוך גם תשומת הלב של הקהל האמריקאי.

ב-28 במרץ 2000, הוציא פול את אלבום הבכורה שלו Stage One, שנמכר ב-190,000 עותקים.

ב-26 בנובמבר 2002, יצא אלבומו השני "Dutty Rock", שזכה להצלחה רבה, מכר למעלה מ-6 מיליון עותקים ברחבי העולם, הגיע למקום ה-9 במצעד אלבומי הבילבורד האמריקאי ושהה בו במשך 85 שבועות.[1] הסינגל "Get Busy" מתוך האלבום והסינגל המשותף שכתב ושר עם ביונסה, "Baby Boy", מאלבומה Dangerously in Love, כבשו את ראשות מצעד להיטי הבילבורד האמריקאי.[2]

ב-27 בספטמבר 2005 יצא אלבומו השלישי, "The Trinity", שכלל את הלהיטים: "We Be Burnin'", "Ever Blazin'", "Give It up to Me". האלבום מכר למעלה ממיליון עותקים בארצות הברית, וכמיליון עותקים גם באירופה.

פול הפיק את כל אלבומיו ואת אלבומה השני של הזמרת ריהאנה, A Girl Like Me.

ב-28 ביוני 2007 הגיע שון פול להופעת יחיד בישראל. ב-23 בינואר 2016 חזר לישראל, והופיע בהיכל מנורה מבטחים.[3] ב-22 באוגוסט 2017 הופיע בלייב פארק ראשון לציון.[4][5] בשנת 2011, הוציא שון פול את השיר "Got 2 Luv U", ביחד עם אלקסיס ג'ורדן, שהפך ללהיט בינלאומי.[6]

בשנת 2018, הוציא את השיר "Mad Love", ביחד עם דייוויד גטה ובקי ג'י. במקור, השיר היה מיועד עבור הזמרת הקולומביאנית שאקירה, אשר הייתה אחת מן הכותבים שלו, אך לבסוף החליטה כי היא לא תשתתף בו.[7] בשנת 2021 הוציא עם איימנבק וסופיה רייס את "Dancing on Dangerous".[8]

חיים אישיים

פול שיחק בנבחרת הפולו מים הלאומית של ג'מייקה מגיל 13 עד 21, אך לאחר מכן ויתר על הספורט כדי לפתח קריירה מוזיקלית.

ב-2012 נישא לג'ודי סטיוארט, מנחת טלוויזיה ג'מייקנית, ולהם שני ילדים.
