Guy II de Saint-Pol ou Guy IV de Châtillon, mort en 1226, est comte de Saint-Pol.

Le siège d'Avignon (1226), et la mort du roi à Montpensier : malade, il meurt le , quelques semaines après Guy de Châtillon.

Biographie

Il est le fils aîné de Gaucher III de Châtillon, sénéchal de Bourgogne et de son épouse Élisabeth de Campdavaine, comtesse de Saint-Pol.

En 1221, il épousa Agnès II de Nevers, héritière des comtés de Nevers, de Tonnerre et d'Auxerre. Le couple eut trois enfants :

Guy de Châtillon fit partie de la Cour de France. Il combattit en 1223 dans le Poitou aux côtés du roi Louis VIII, dont il est un des fidèles, pour reconquérir les possessions détenues par les Anglais[1].

Son épouse, la comtesse Agnès, mourut en 1225. L'année suivante, il accompagna le roi Louis VIII lors de la seconde croisade contre les albigeois. Guy de Châtillon fut tué d'un coup de pierre au combat pendant le siège d'Avignon[1],[2].

Ses enfants Gaucher et Yolande, héritiers des comtés de Nevers, de Tonnerre et d'Auxerre, furent recueillis par leur grand-mère maternelle Mathilde de Courtenay[1]. Hugues Ier de Châtillon, son frère cadet, reçut le comté de Saint-Pol[3].
