Yrjö Ora

Yrjö Ilmari Ora (30. huhtikuuta 1889 Viipuri – 30. syyskuuta 1974 Helsinki) oli suomalainen lyseon lehtori ja oppikirjojen tekijä.[1][2]

Yrjö Oran vanhemmat olivat kansakoulunopettaja Tuomas Ora ja Fredrika Parviainen. Ora pääsi ylioppilaaksi Viipurin klassillisesta lyseosta 1907 ja valmistui Helsingin yliopistosta filosofian kandidaatiksi 1912 ja filosofian maisteriksi 1917.[3][2]

Yrjö Ora oli Terijoen yhteiskoulun opettajana 1912–1916, Viipurin kauppakoulun opettajana 1917–1918, Karjalan maanviljelyslyseon opettajana 1917–1918 sekä Viipurin liikeapulaiskoulun opettajana ja johtajana 1917–1918. Hän oli sen jälkeen Viipurin kauppakamarin asiamiehenä 1918–1919 ja Suomen Valtamerentakainen Kauppa Oy:n johtokunnan sihteerinä 1919–1920. Tämän jälkeen Ora oli Viipurin realikoulun, maanviljelys- ja kauppalyseon opettajana vuodesta 1920 sekä koulun johtajana vuodesta 1925. Viipurin suomalaisen klassillisen lyseon suomenkielen vanhempana lehtorina hän oli 1928–1929 ja sitten Helsingin koelyseon historian, yhteiskuntaopin ja kansantalouden vanhempana lehtorina vuodesta 1929 alkaen sekä tämän lyseon rehtorina 1929–1934. Suomen sisällissodan aikana Ora toimi Karjalan Armeijakunnan Pääesikunnan Tiedonantoja-lehden toimittajana ja Karjalan 2. rykmentin adjutanttina ja kansliapäällikkönä.[3].

Yrjö Ora oli naimisissa vuodesta 1920 Saima Impi Virtasen kanssa.[2]
