Timothy Robert "Tim" Hunter (s. 10. syyskuuta 1960 Calgary, Alberta) on uransa päättänyt kanadalainen jääkiekkoilija, pelipaikaltaan hyökkääjä. Ura

Hunter pelasi ennen NHL-uraansa juniorikiekkoa WHL-liigan Seattle Breakersissa kolmen kauden ajan. Atlanta Flames varasi hänet kolmannella kierroksella vuonna 1979 kaikkiaan 54. pelaajana. Juniorivuosien jälkeen kaudelle 1980–1981 Hunter siirtyi ensin AHL-liigan Nova Scotia Voyageursin joukkueeseen ja sieltä 17 pelin jälkeen loppu kaudeksi CHL-liigan Birmingham Bullsin joukkueeseen. Kausi 1981–1982 kului pääosin CHL:ssa Oklahoma City Stars joukkueessa, mutta Hunter pääsi myös kahden ottelun ajaksi opettelemaan NHL-kiekkoa Calgaryyn siirtyneen Flamesin riveihin. Kaudella 1982–1983 Hunter pelasi 16 ottelua Calgary Flamesin riveissä ja 46 ottelua farmijoukkueessa Colorado Flamesissa AHL:ssa. Syksystä 1983 lähtien hän kuului Flamesin runkopelaajiin ja viihtyi organisaatiossa yhdeksän kautta.

Kesällä 1992 Tampa Bay Lightning varasi hänet NHL:n laajennusvarauksessa vain myydäkseen hänet saman tien eteenpäin Quebec Nordiquesiin myöhemmin sovittavaa korvausta vastaan. Quebecissä Hunter pelasi noin puolet kaudesta 1992–1993 kunnes siirtyi 48 pelin jälkeen Vancouver Canucksiin. Vancouverissa hän viihtyi kevääseen 1996 asti, minkä jälkeen hän teki yksivuotisen sopimuksen San Jose Sharksin kanssa. Hunter lopetti uransa keväällä 1997. Kaikkiaan Hunter ylitti uransa aikana 20 tehopisteen rajan vain kahdesti. NHL:n pudotuspeleissä Hunter esiintyi 132 ottelussa joissa teki 5 maalia ja antoi 7 maaliin johtanutta syöttöä. Jäähyllä hän ehti istumaan 426 minuuttia.[1]

Valmentajana

Pelaajauransa jälkeen Hunter on toiminut valmennustehtävissä. Vuosina 1997–2002 hän toimi Washington Capitalsin joukkueen apuvalmentajana ja tämän jälkeen viisi kautta San Jose Sharksin apuvalmentajana. Vuosina 2008–2011 Hunter toimi apuvalmentajana Torontossa ja palasi välivuoden jälkeen jälleen Washingtoniin. Vuosina 2014–2020 Hunter toimi WHL-joukkue Moose Jaw Warriorsissa päävalmentajana.[1]
