Reijo Perälä

Reijo Perälä (s. 1955 Merijärvi) on suomalainen toimittaja, historiantutkija ja filosofian tohtori, joka on tehnyt pitkän työuran lehdissä ja Yleisradiossa. Vuonna 2006 Perälä oli käynnistämässä Yle Elävää arkistoa ja vuonna 2007 Yle Areenaa. Hän oli Yle Areenan, Ylen Elävän arkiston ja yle.fi-etusivutoimituksen ohjelmapäällikkö ja esimies vuosina 2005–2018.[1]

Aiemmin Perälä on toiminut Radio Suomen ohjelmajohtajana (1999–2005), Yleisradion Oulun läänin ohjelma-alueen aluepäällikkönä (1989–1999), Oulu-lehden päätoimittajana (1983–1989) ja toimitussihteerinä (1982–1983) sekä toimittajana ja paikallistoimittajana oululaisissa lehdissä (1979–1982).[2]

Perälän kirjoittama artikkelisarja Oulun puutaloista ja puutalokokonaisuuksista palkittiin Suomen kaupunkilehtien vuoden 1983 parhaana lehtiartikkelina. Valtion tiedonjulkistamispalkinto[3] hänelle myönnettiin vuonna 2007 ja Koulutusrahasto Kouran Vuoden sivistysteko -palkinto[4] vuonna 2006 Ylen Elävän arkiston perustamisesta. Perälä on saanut Elävän arkiston ja Yle Areenan toimitustiimien vetäjänä useita media-alan palkintoja[5].

Perälä on koulutukseltaan filosofian tohtori, pääaineena yleinen historia. Hän on kirjoittanut satoja artikkeleita Suomen poliittisesta historiasta ja erityisesti maailmansotien välisestä kaudesta. Akateemisissa tutkimuksissaan hän on tutkinut suomalaista äärioikeistoliikehdintää: Lapuan liikettä, pulaliikehdintää, Isänmaallista Kansanliikettä ja niiden julkista kuvaa. Väitöskirjassaan Lapuan liike ja sanan mahti hän on tutkinut, miten Lapuan liike rakensi julkisen kuvansa ja miten oikeistoliike hyödynsi julkisuutta vallankäytön ja painostuspolitiikan osana.[6][7]
