Väike tobias ehk nigli (ka väiketobias, Ammodytes tobianus) on tobiaslaste sugukonda tobia perekonda kuuluv kalaliik.

Väike tobias elab Lääne-Euroopa rannikumeres [1] ja rohkelt ka Eesti rannikuvetes.

Väikese tobia keha on pikenenud ja ümara ristlõikega. Pea on samuti pikenenud ja otsast terav, terava väljaulatuva alalõuaga. Ülalõug on väljasopistuv ja võib koos alalõuaga moodustada toru. Lõua eesmises otsas pole hambaid.

Silmatorkavalt pikk on seljauim, mis koosneb 49–58 hargnenud kiirest. Kala pikkus on 20 cm, eluiga küünib 7 aastani.[2] Rinnauimed on väikesed ja paiknevad madalal, kõhuuimed puuduvad, sabauim on kahehõlmaline. Nahavärv on seljal rohekaskollane, külgede ülaosas kollane, alakülgedel ja kõhul hõbedane.

Paljunemine sõltub sellest, missugusesse teisendisse kala kuulub. Sigimine toimub tavaliselt veebruarist aprillini, harvem septembrist novembrini. Kalad saavad suguküpseks 1–2-aastaselt, kui nad on 8 cm pikad.

Tobiaslaste marjaterad on demersaalsed, veidi ellipsoidsed ja kleepuvad liivaterade külge. Vastsed on pelaagilised ja ilmuvad planktonisse massiliselt.[1]

Väiketobia peamiseks toiduks on planktilised vähid ja tõruvähkide vastsed.[1]

Tobiaslased ise on põhjaeluviisiga tursklaste lemmiktoit ja tobiaid kasutataksegi tursklaste õngejadadega püüdmisel elussöödana.[1]

Väikese tobia kõrval leidub Eesti rannikuvetes ka tobiaslaste suurtobia perekonda kuuluvat suurtobiat (Hyperoplus lanceolatus), kes sööb väiketobiat.
