Ants Mellik

Ants Mellik (1. juuni 1926 Tartu – 26. september 2005 Tallinn) oli eesti arhitekt.[1]

Elukäik

Lõpetas 1944. aastal Tallinna Reaalkooli, jätkas õpinguid Tallinna Polütehnilises Instituudis, mille lõpetas 1950. aastal. 1952–1956 oli Ehituse Teadusliku Uurimise Instituudis aspirant ja 1958–1968 teadur. Töötas 1956–1957 Eesti NSV Riiklikus Ehituskomitees ja 1957–1961 Estonprojektis. 1957–1958 oli ta Tallinna linna Töörahva Saadikute Nõukogu Täitevkomitee arhitektuuriosakonnas ning 1968–1992 EKE Projektis.[2]

Isiklikku

Tema vanemad olid skulptor Voldemar Mellik ja Linda Mellik. Vend oli arhitekt Tõnu Mellik.[1]

Looming

Ants Mellik esindas modernistliku arhitektuurikäsitlust, mille järgi arhitektuur kasvab välja ühiskonna vajadustest, konkreetsetest oludest ja demokraatlikest vajadustest.[3]

Ants Mellik koostas Tallinna Hiiu kvartali planeeringu ja projekteeris sinna punktelamud Ilmarise tänavale. Seda elamuprojekti rakendati ka Keilas ja muudetuna Mustamäel. Tegi planeeringukavad Kolga-Aadla, Kiiu-Aadla, Viinistu, Põdrangu, Treimani ja teistele asulatele.[2]

1950. hakkasid Teaduste Akadeemia Ehituse ja Ehitusmaterjalide Instituudi teadlastekollektiivid (Harald Arman, Alar Kotli, Ants Mellik, Heino Parmas ja Leonid Volkov) looma elamutele eksperimentaalprojekte, kuid sellega kaasnes palju puudusi. Nende kõige õnnestunum eksperimentaalelamu oli 1960. aastate algul püstitatud Gonsiori 18 Televisioonimaja vastas. See sisaldas konstruktiivse uuendusena suurte sildeavaga põikikandeseinu, mis võimaldasid vabamat ruumijaotust ning soosisid läbi maja ulatuvaid kortereid.[4]

Hinnatud on ta ühepereelamud "Ants" ja "Ando", mida alates 1977. aastast ehitati palju. "Antsu" näited on leida näiteks Ääsmäel.[2] "Antsu" projekt on eestlaslik kõrge viilkatuse ja väljaehitatud mansardkorruse ning kahe välisuksega. Sama katuse alla jäävad ka saun, garaaž ja väikesed abiruumid.[5]

Palju on kasutatud 1982. aastast kolmekorruselise sektsioonelamu EKE−10 ja kahekorruselise ridaelamu projekte. 1990. aastast hakkas ta projekteerima taluelamuid ja majapidamishooneid.[2]

Koos Ülle Kupriga projekteerisid nad Armeeniasse Spitakki maavärinas kannatanuile ühepereelamuid ning Karjalasse Jakkimi 18 korteriga silikaltsiitpaneelelamu ja 1991. aastal lastepäevakodu.[2]
