Brissago estas komunumo de la Komunumaro Isole kaj la Distrikto Locarno en Kantono Tiĉino, Svislando. Ĝi havis 1852 loĝantojn je la 31-a de decembro 2011.

Geografio

Brissago situas ĉe la nordokcidenta bordo de la Majora Lago okcidentsudokcidente de Ascona kaj Locarno apud la landlimo al Italio. En Brissago situas ekde la 19-a jarcento tabakfabriko. La komunumo konsistas el la vilaĝo Brissago kaj la setlejoj Bassuno, Caccio, Cadogno, Cartogna, Corte, Gadero, Incella, Madonna di Ponte, Nevedone, Noveledo, Piazza, Piodina, Porta, Rossorino kaj Tecetto kaj la Insuloj de Brissago sur la Majora Lago. Sur la insuloj de Brissago situas fama botanika ĝardeno.[1]

La teritorio de la komunumo etendiĝas sur areo de 17,79 km², de kiuj 70.0% estas kovritaj de arbaro, 5,6% servas por agrikulturo kaj 7,5% por setlado. [2]

La komunumo Brissago limas en nordokcidento kaj nordo al Centovalli, en nordoriento al Ascona, en oriento al Ronco sopra Ascona, en sudo al la Majora Lago, kaj en sudokcidento al Canobbio (VB, Italio).

Historio

La unua dokumenta mencio de Brissago datiĝas el la jaro 1289 kiel Brixago. Pro ĝia izolita situo Brissago dum mezepoko ĉe la limo inter la influsferoj de la Duklando Milano kaj la Episkopolando Como Brissago estis dum mezepoko komunumo kun granda aŭtonomio, kiu estis rekte submetita al la imperio. Sub la regado de la Svisa Ĵurkomunumo ĝis 1798 Brissago apartenis al la Voktejo Lugano sed restis aparta tribunaldistrikto kun propra konsilio.[3]
