Wikipedia:Meetup/Stuttgart

This page is dedicated to the monthly meetups of English-speaking Wikimedians in Stuttgart, Germany, which started in March 2025, at the Stadtbibliothek Stuttgart. For the already existing German-speaking event on the second Friday of every month, at the same location, check Wikipedia:Stuttgart.

Feel free to contact one of the organizers if you have any questions, and do not hesitate to add your name and signature in the "Interested" section, to express your interest to attend one of the events.

The first event took place on March 19, 2025. The next one is planned for May 20, 2026.

Given the low return and the expenses associated with maintaining a meetup group, we have moved from Meetup to LinkedIn. We also have a WhatsApp group (link will be added soon).

The meeting was attended by RudolfSimon and Ideophagous and we discussed the Content Translation Tool, machine translation and AI policy on Wikipedia (including MinT), and ideas to improve the event and get more participants.

The meeting was attended by Bibefl and Ideophagous. We used the presentation from August for Wikipedia basics, then the article Nis Albrecht Johannsen the Elder was created as a demo. Bibefl created their account and made their first edit to Wikipedia.

The workshop was attended by Hvurchio and Ideophagous. It went more or less the same as the October session. Hvurchio created their account and made their first edit on Wikipedia (signing their attendance to this Workshop). For the demo part, the article Nis Albrecht Johannsen the Younger was created.

Got cancelled.

The workshop was attended by Donkey50, dqisme and Ideophagous. Discussed were the policy for good and featured articles, and "In the News" section on the homepage. We also went through old material concerning Wikipedia in general, and new material concerning Wikimedia Commons. We also talked about technical topics in Wikimedia projects, and Wikimedia events, especially upcoming ones.

The workshop was attended by Donkey50 and Ideophagous. We reused material from the previous session about Wikimedia Commons, and did a small demo for a file upload on the phone using the Android app. We also did a small on wiki presentation of Wikidata (to which we may come back later with a full demo), and discussed a Wikimedia project that Donkey50 wants to start concerning Indian artists.
