Music and composition

Victorious 2.0: More Music from the Hit TV Show is primarily a pop record.[1] The EP opens with "Make It in America", an upbeat pop and pop rock track.[2][3] Lyrically, the song is about Justice desiring to achieve fame in the music industry.[2][4] "Take a Hint" is a pop and electropop track with Justice and Elizabeth Gillies on vocals.[5][6][7] The song's lyrics are about having the right to consent and standing up against unwanted advances.[4][5]

The next track, "Shut Up and Dance," features Justice on lead vocals, while "5 Fingaz to the Face" includes a group performance by Justice and the Victorious cast.[1][2][8] "Countdown" is an upbeat pop track that features Justice and Leon Thomas III on vocals.[1][9] The EP closes with a cover version of Simple Minds 1985 number one single "Don't You (Forget About Me)".[1] The iTunes version of the EP concludes with "I Think You're Swell" that features Matt Bennett on vocals.[10][11]

"Make It in America" was released as the second single on May 15, 2012.[19] It was later released as a single in Australia by Sony Music to radio airplay on November 1, 2012, and digital download on November 9 of that year.[20] A music video for the song was released in May 2012.[21][22][23] The video features Justice and the Victorious cast driving through Los Angeles in a convertible.[2][21] Justice promoted the song by performing it live on The Ellen DeGeneres Show in May 2012.[24] The song peaked at number one on the US Billboard Kid Digital Song Sales chart.[25]
