You get this message because you are an admin on a Wikimedia wiki.
When someone edits a Wikimedia wiki without being logged in today, we show their IP address. As you may already know, we will not be able to do this in the future. This is a decision by the Wikimedia Foundation Legal department, because norms and regulations for privacy online have changed.
Instead of the IP we will show a masked identity. You as an admin will still be able to access the IP. There will also be a new user right for those who need to see the full IPs of unregistered users to fight vandalism, harassment and spam without being admins. Patrollers will also see part of the IP even without this user right. We are also working on better tools to help.
We have two suggested ways this identity could work. We would appreciate your feedback on which way you think would work best for you and your wiki, now and in the future. You can let us know on the talk page. You can write in your language. The suggestions were posted in October and we will decide after 17 January.

@Stvbastian: Yen Hui has been in the title (at different positions) for 15 years since creation. Based on Google the short form appears more common but it's not a big difference. Sure, take your time. It may get nominated by someone else, but you should receive a notice. There is a group of us working to clean up Wikipedia:Database reports/Unused templates/1. Hi, I'm stumped with on member of Category:Articles with invalid date parameter in template, a redirect - Noelle Bush. I'm not sure what is causing this, the redirect itself doesn't show the cat and hasn't been edited in years. Since it's protected, I can't try a null edit myself. @MB: Something, probably systematic null edits to pages which haven't been edited for a long time, is causing category updates recently. The error category was added by {{uncategorized|date=November 2015}} before a bot responded by creating Category:Uncategorized from November 2015 today. I have added {{R to section}} as suggested. Category pages are often updated much later than the list of categories on a page. I wouldn't be surprised if Category:Uncategorized pages soon gets other newly bot-created subcategories. That seems sensible but with a little more code it's possible to show both on the doc page itself. As the guidelines suggest, I attempted to reach resolution, but the editor refuses to engage in any productive discussion and simply reverts any edit to the page, without contributing to the Talk page I started to help resolve this dispute.
While I understand that Wikipedia is not an advertising platform, we are not attempting to do any form of advertising. I am simply trying to add our company to a list in which it belongs - and I've read through the guidelines quite thoroughly to ensure there is no breach, and believe we are right to be included in the list. A 3rd opinion would be greatly appreciated to help settle the matter, as I am concerned this is becoming an edit war, and I have no interest in such activity.

Thank you, PrimeHunter - I opted not to add to that section, as it requests that a situation be thoroughly discussed on a talk page before making a request. I noted another page mentioned to "avoid the drama" by reaching out directly to an admin. Unfortunately, the editor in question has refused to contribute to the talk page, and simply responds to anything I do by calling it "spam", and claiming I am breaking rules - and has expressed no interest in resolution, simply proclaiming themselves "right". Primarily, the point of debate is whether or not a company can/should be added to a list page, without their own Wiki article existing - and if they can/should, then how it should be added to said list (Externally linked? Hi. There has been no serious discussion on the talk page suggesting or hinting that the Prize in Economics should be in the infobox. Repeated reverts by accounts- without a word of commentary, which do not engage in discussion or the talk page- those do not deserve any more than a quick use of the undo button just as they are doing to my edits. My edit was careful and thoughtful and preserved the relationship of the Prize in Economics prominently in the head of the article. If people are interested in that prize, they are welcome to read about it. But it is "Not a Nobel Prize", and editors repeatedly removing that comment from the article are doing a disservice and encouraging the spread of misinformation.
Is there a wikipedia policy to preserve factually incorrect claims and WP:WEASEL words as the status quo until some sort of consensus process happens on the Talk page? These are your own opinions. Wikipedia operates by reliable sources and consensus. A single editor doesn't have the power to control an article and permanently remove anything they personally consider incorrect witohut being able to convince other editors of the article. We normally don't make external links in the body of articles but it's often different when a whole list is based on the same official source which has a page about each entry. See e.g. National Register of Historic Places listings in Houston Heights, Houston, Texas#Current listings (there are thousands of such lists), List of chess grandmasters#Grandmasters, List of MeSH codes (D02) (around 2500 links on this page alone), 2022 FIFA World Cup#Group stage ("Report" link for every match), List of minor planets: 14001–15000 (whole "Ref" column is external links). The Pokedex links work both as references and additional information, e.g. an image of the Pokemon. I think they are helpful to both readers and editors, and I don't think readers will be surprised by where they go. It would be possible to make inline references instead but it would just create around 100 nearly identical references per list and an extra step to reach the target from the tables. Thank you for your message and thank you, especially, for taking the time to remove all the pesky "small talk". I only added those because the last column needs to contain longer text (whole sentences/paragraphs) and it appeared the same width as the column with the dates. I'm sure there is a much better way of fixing it (column width parameters or summat?), but I'm not at all technically minded, so the small text it seemed a simple option, if time-consuming...
I hope to be able to answer all your questions in one go, not necessarily in chronological order, but if I leave something out, please don't hesitate to get back to me on it...
As I mentioned in my edit summary for the split, the page just seemed to be getting way too unwieldy —even for someone (yours truly) who knows, at least in theory, where everything is— and I was concerned that any reader coming to it cold would just find it too cumbersome. That said, the point you make about closely connected info being spread out over two pages did worry me* but in debating the split —with myself**— I reckoned that anyone who was sufficiently interested in the subject matter would also be willing to follow the whole chain of events, as well as going off on the inevitable tangents that them there marvellous wikilinks afford us.
* Indeed, I'm beginning to think that I was being too optimist in splitting it into just the two pages, because, in answer to that question, yes! I do have in mind a "huge expansion"... ** No, I did not discuss it anywhere because I wasn't really sure where to do so; the corresponding talk page didn't seem to be the right place 'cos there ain't nothin' happening there... And as the whole thing really was getting too unwieldy for me to edit —even though I'm fortunate to use a device with fully updated software, etc.— I figured it would be better to simply split the content into rough periods of time.
Regarding the extension, I sort of based my rationale on Wikipedia:Article size (in particular, WP:SIZERULE and, to a lesser extent —no pun intended— eventual technical issues, WP:CHOKING).
I did consider adding a year index and year rows like the ones in the example you provided, but that format only permits sorting within each section, which defeats the object of searching for sortable content on the whole page —something I consider essential, ie sorting by Spanish, French, British, Anglo-Portuguese victories, etc. (at least those on the same page/year range).
Regarding your suggestion of undoing the split, obviously if it's your considered opinion that that would be preferable, I would bow to your superior technical knowledge. I have no intention of making a stand on this issue. And I fully agree that it would be prefereable to have all the content on one single page/in one single, sortable table. Would it be possible to undo it with your admin buttons without losing all the content I've added since the split?
BTW, as you point out, Special:LongPages has hundreds of lists above 300 kB. But I took that as more of a "notice to mariners" (NTM or NOTMAR) kind of thing, rather than a best-practices guideline...

Having gone over what you commented, think I understand it better now. When I referred to the system you recommend not being sortable as a whole it was because of all those empty rows in that carrier table (which take up more than a whole screen when clicking on "Navy"!). Am I correct in understanding from what you say that you can write code to prevent that happening (or is it a necessary evil of sortable tables of that length)?
BTW, when I asked you about whether it would be possible to undo the split "without losing all the content I've added", I wasn't thinking of attribution at all (at least not for me), merely the amount of content that I'd added since the split. When I first started editing at Wp I thought the whole idea of having a username was childish (I still do, but...) and that the true spirit of the project meant editing anonymously as an IP, which I did, intensively, for a couple of years, until a couple of old-timer admins convinced me that it would be more useful to the project as a whole if I registered as a user (eventually leading to rollback rights, etc., which in those days had to be requested).
So, the bottom line is that I have no objection to you organising the sortable table in the best interest of users. Thanks for taking the time to sort out anything I have/may have messed up and hope I don't take up too much of your time as I add more content to that timeline. Unfortunately user called "Szelma W" removed the content I added because: "Your edit is not neutral" - as of Szelma W wrote. I added information about two different topics - Szelma W deleted both (like both were not neutral).
I tried to use help from administrator Zzuuzz:
Zzuuzz wrote me about reaching consensus and advise: "You probably don't need to do anything" - which I do not understand.
During the discussion with Zzuuzz Szelma W described me as follow: "has very limited knowledge about the accident on K2". I do not think I can reach consensus with Szelma W especially that she easily dismiss other opinions (and does not even have her own userpage where we could freely talk).
I think Szelma W removes and censors content on Wikipedia based on her subjective criteria and hope that I could find administrator who could find a solution here.

The part of the Mersenne prime article starting with the following sentence
"All Mersenne numbers with the prime exponents not only primes pass the Fermat primality test for a = 2"
is own work of Mr. Matt Kalinski (possibly the Wikipedia user with the Mattedia nick). It is not confirmed by any other RS.
Is it allowed to add this kind of edits to the Wikipedia?

@Olivia Harry: I'm not going to work on the draft but will explain "Interviews are not independent sources, subject will need to pass the criteria at WP:GNG" in [3]. It means that the interview is not good to help show whether the subject qualifies for a Wikipedia biography by satisfying our notability criteria. It doesn't mean it's disallowed to use the source. It loks like a good source for content and there was no reason to remove it. @JackkBrown: They are usually placed right after the marked content without a space, like Verdicchio dei Castelli di Jesi DOC† (Marche). It's a little hard to spot in long lines so if the property is important then you could also consider the start of the line. I would add a space there. @Koavf: I was clearing Category:Pages with disallowed DISPLAYTITLE modifications of around 380 categories with invalid {{DISPLAYTITLE:}}. It incorrectly said "(season 7)" before so 30 Rock was not italicized in the displayed page name at top of the page. Now it is. For many other shows I fixed many seasons and could use the same {{italic title|string=...}} on all seasons. I found this approach easier than fiddling with the specific DISPLAYTITLE on every page, and {{italic title|string=...}} may keep working if a page is moved again. And some people start by copy-pasting code from an existing similar page when creating a new page but fail to change DISPLAYTITLE. A copy-pasted {{italic title|string=...}} from another article about the same work will usually keep working correctly. I never change a working {{DISPLAYTITLE:}} but if it's broken then I often use {{italic title|string=...}} to fix it. Thanks for your Source links script. I've been using it for a while, but noticed that it doesn't work for templates and modules, and can miss articles outside of the main namespace if capitalization after the namespace prefix is different. Yesterday, w:ht: Kategori:Paj ak lyen fichye kase had about a dozen pages in it. The count had been pretty stable for weeks. Sometimes I'd clean one up. This morning, there are 67 pages in the cat.
One of the new ones is w:ht:Vilhelm Bjerknes, which is d:Q164389. The article has been associated with the Wikidata item since it was created in November 2012. The current image in the Wikidata item has been there since February 2021. The article hasn't been edited since March 2013. I therefore conclude that the problem isn't in the content.
The infobox template was changed today. Could you take a look at that and see if there's anything obviously wrong? It's not protected, so if you see an obvious error, feel free to fix it. I'm hoping that fixing the template will resolve both the old problems and the new one. @WhatamIdoing: imaj and lejand are assigned twice in [6] by Kitanago. Template parameters should never be assigned twice. The second assignment overrides the first, also if the second is empty and the first was non-empty. If the intention was to make it optional whether to use |imaj= or |foto= in calls then the correct code is |imaj = {{{imaj|{{{foto|}}}}}}. Similar for |lejand = {{{lejand|{{{tèks|}}}}}}. A separate problem is that ht:Vilhelm Bjerknes has the code |foto=Bjerknes,Vilhelm 1934 London.jpg. The new template version tries to use foto which was ignored before, but the file doesn't exist. Remove the code or change it to an existing file. I examined other pages in ht:Kategori:Paj ak lyen fichye kase. Many of them have a non-existing file in |foto=. I don't know the history behind that but the template could also go back to ignoring foto so the non-existing files don't matter. I have another question. I want to have a template, e.g., {{MEDRS evaluation|evidence=review|human=yes|date=2018}} that allows:
evidence: for a given list of four or five keywords, return result X; for a given list of 20 keywords, return result Y; for unknown, return the unknown result; if empty, be silent.
human: for any true value (y, yes, Y, T, true, 1 – whatever the usual options are), return result X; for any usual false value, return result Y; if empty, be silent.
date: If the year given, compared to {{CURRENTYEAR}}, is 5 or less years old, then return result X; if it is 5–10 years old, return result Y; if it is >10 years old, complain; if it is empty, then nag.
I have been looking through templates trying to find examples of these, and everything's been turned into Lua modules or is part of a multi-template scheme (or both, e.g., infoboxes), so I haven't found any good examples of what I'd like to do. I also haven't found anything in the help pages that says, very simply, "Here's the code if {{{parameter1}}} is ____, and you want it to return this different thing". Mandruss: The left alignment looks like it works better for alignment. When you changed to right alignment, then the original problem came back pushing the image down below the navbox into an unrelated section. Could the edit be switched back to the version as done by PrimeHunter. It is displayed in the correct section following PrimeHunter's edit. Thanks for the comment. Your comment is fine, though the original problem comes back of conflict with navbox when the image is placed on the right. The first version by PrimeHunter I think looked a bit better. It printed the image in the correct section as intended by the previous editors. {{stack}} has no effect on the image when it's right-aligned like the stacked content. Each right-aligned element is shown to the right in the order they appear in the source. I only used {{stack}} for the situation where the image was left-aligned. "user configuration" can involve many things like operating system, browser, browser settings, window size, desktop/mobile/app, Wikipedia preferences, and user scripts. The skin is important here because the default Vector 2022 has no table of contents inside the article. @Mandruss: Maybe you have another skin and haven't seen how far the right-aligned image is pushed away from its section in Vector 2022 when there is no table of contents to also push down the section. You can log out to see it. @MisterBee1966: Austria was part of Germany at the time (Anschluss), template names are not seen by readers, and the template is based on Category:German World War II flying aces where List of World War II aces from Austria is also included. I don't think there is good reason to rename it.
