Seeing as you are among those who update these things the most, how would you feel about overhauling the WPT, EPT, APPT and LAPT results pages to conform to the final table formats used in the WSOP? It seems that the tables with payouts and other information are far more clean and useful than the lists currently used for results. We are good to go. The important information should be X-Day Event, the Dates, Prize Pool, Payouts, and which casino it was in. Also, the buy-ins do differ, so we need to mention that either in the title (which should just be the name of the event) or add another heading above the final table results. I see that you added {{World Series of Poker Player of the Year Award Winners}} to Ben Lamb. I do not think this is correct. According to the formula main events offer 500 for 1st and 350 for 2nd. Chris Moorman (486.20) and Shawn Buchanan (505.51) are among the final 44 alive in the 2011 World Series of Poker Europe main event. Both could surpass 759.05 with either a first or a second place finish. Others could surpass him with a first place finish only including Jake Cody (313.13). Do you have a reason to believe that the WSOPE main event does not accrue main event points? {{unblock|reason=I really don't see how adding a brief summary of a major golf tournament, information that I obtained mostly from the official USGA and R&A websites, counts as "disruptive editing". If anyone sees a problem with anything I wrote they are free to edit it. Everything I wrote on all the pages is referenced in the two pages I added as external links on each page, so it's not like I was just making stuff up. I read what was written in the AN/I and have perfectly valid reasons for each of the edits I made. It appears like the only factual mistake I made was what I wrote about Jim Thorpe, and I fully acknowledge that mistake. As I have said, everything else I wrote on both the U.S. Open and Open Championship pages is referenced in the sites I added as external links, which I believe are as valid a source as I could get. Unfortunately, I had never heard of the Google News Search when I first started editing these pages, so I did not use that source. If one of those sites I used is shown to contain wrong information, then I can't be held responsible for that. Another thing I noticed was mentioned often in the AN/I is the changing of nationalities. The reason I did that is because the players were listed as GBR on the R&A website, and that is the information I copied down and used (with the exception of Dai Rees, who I noticed someone changed to Wales so I used that from that time on). I never touched the round summaries for the first three rounds, so that is why the information might appear to conflict. It is for these reasons that I am requesting the block be lifted, and I can continue to contribute to Wikipedia's resources on the history of this wonderful game that I love.}}

There's a huge number of problems listed at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents#User Compy90. It is hard to consider unblocking you if you're planning to go ahead with more of the same. You remove existing citations and when you add new statements to an article, you don't add new citations to go with them. People have found many factual mistakes in what you've added. There is no evidence that you are willing to go point-by-point through problems that are drawn to your attention. For Wikipedia, you are a net liability because people have to clean up after you. I didn't remove existing citations, almost all of the pages had none to begin with. For every page I referenced the two sources where I received all of my information, you could easily check my work against those two sources if you wish and I think I will come out looking pretty good. I don't know how I am a net liability to Wikipedia, I've had an account for 7 years and made over 3,000 edits before I touched any of these golf pages, with nobody reporting any problem with anything I had ever written. If the main problem is that I didn't include citations within the article, I admit I did not because I added the references at the end of the page. I will do so in the future if that is required.

If not, then I suggest you do so, and if you have then I suggest that you try to address the issues raised there. If you ignore many of the issues raised, and deny others which anyone can check and find to be valid, then you will not be encouraging any administrator to unblock you. Compy just as an FYI, Syrex98 asked me to take a look at what is going on here due to our past interactions on the Poker articles and how valuable you've been during the WSOP season which is about to begin. Unfortunately, I don't think I can unblock (even if I thought it was appropriate I couldn't because of WP:INVOLVE). You've been blocked for one reason, you refused to discuss the issue despite repeated attempts/warnings to get a response. From my experience with you, that is atypical behavior. But before anybody is going to unblock, you have to agree to discuss the issues and see if you and the people who raised the ANI report can work out the details. Ok, I'll address each of the issues in the Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard/Incidents. I left in the quote about the golf course in the 1970 U.S. Open, which is referenced in the two sources I added. I removed the mention of Tom Watson in 1975 because he wasn't mentioned in my sources and didn't fit in the narrative I was writing, but that reference has been put back and I am okay with that. For the course location, I always used the town that the USGA Championship Database used, and when that proved to be a disambiguation notice I went back and changed it. The edit from 1986 appears simply to be a mistake on my part, miscounting the golfers listed on the USGA Championship Database. Again, the 1994 edit was simply a typo on my part, one I didn't catch when reviewing my work (I'm only human). Two mistakes in over 100 years of edits isn't that bad. Now for the content mistakes, I already admitted I made an error on the Jim Thorpe information. For the information about Ben Hogan in 1960, the USGA Championship Database says this: "Ben Hogan, hoping for an unprecedented fifth Open title, hit all 18 greens in regulation of his morning round to shoot 69 to get within three of the lead." I wrote that he was within three shots of the lead in my edit based on this information. It never says that he tied for the lead, so I was unaware that he did as this was one of two sources I used. Now for the Open Championship edits, again, as in the U.S. Open edits, I included the R&A website and the About.com golf section as references at the bottom of the page, and it is from those two sources that I obtained all of my information. For the course par changes, I used the information contained on the R&A website in the course descriptions, as well as from future tournaments held on the same course where the score was included on Wikipedia. Since the tournament summaries I used didn't mention the par, unlike for the U.S. Open, this was the only method I could think of to get correct information. The previous information doesn't cite any source either, so it is uncertain if I was right or not. As for the nationalities, I already mentioned that I used the information contained on the R&A website for that, which lists the golfers as GBR. I hope this summary clears up a little of my methodology.

Hopefully I am posting in the right spot. I'm the editor who brought this issue to ANI.

I didn't want this editor blocked but only went to the board to get him to change his ways and explain himself. Since the get go I felt he was knowledgeable about golf but mistake prone. These golf articles needed fleshing out. Before going to ANI I had made about 6 attempts to communicate with Compy90 about my concerns only to be ignored or told blanketly that he believed he was right.

That's past and now for the present. He's admitted to some sloppiness and I think this is a lesson about what needs to be done so these articles can be quality work. I'm willing to work with Compy90,(I go through golf articles all the time looking for mistakes) show him the tricks I have for finding reliable sources(golf.com is a private website. It's information is pretty good to very good but the content they have comes from somewhere else and doesn't originate there.) Google News Archive and Sports Illustrated are very good ones.(Compy90 used the later when him and I had a dispute a fact over the 77 Open.[2] So he has shown what can be done.) The tour websites are better than golf.com, the tournament websites generally even better. All websites have mistakes(I like Google News archive or SI because the articles there are written up at the time they happened. Mistaken info doesn't happen as much) if Compy90 copied from any website and I find some fact in error, I'll fix it and WP:AGF and drop him a heads up at the same time.

• What I ask is he inline citation where he gets the info so I know what to check.
• Use reliable sources, Google news archive, SI, and the the others, like I suggest above.
• Use any working(dead links can be removed) inline citations that are already in the article. They're a good source for information.

I also have observed recently that a lot of the stats on player articles are now out-of-date - it is understandably very difficult to keep stats about tour wins/final tables/money finishes accurate, but it's a shame - I wonder what the solution might be? (by talk reader) @Officially Mr X: You seem to suffer a misunderstanding of what this encyclopedia is, based upon your statement above where you claim "some very significant players that are probably due their own article". No one is "due" anything. Wikipedia is not your website to webhost content about your niche hobby. The community at large has turned against the various subject-specific notability guidelines as they typically only allow for general notability. Nonsense accomplishments like WSOP bracelets hold no weight here. That you, an experienced editor, are here asking someone else to write your vanity content is wrong-headed. Wow, why so rude for my good-faith suggestion? What are the criteria of notability for poker players then? Apparently it is not number of bracelets, despite that being a very highly regarded metric within the poker community. It then begs the question as to why so many poker players have articles on here even if they have no bracelets or other major wins to their name - what notability thresholds did they reach? I am not your kindergarten teacher here to coddle you, so please refrain from describing my rebuke of you as rudeness. Although WikiProject Poker has its own opinion on notability, the editing community writ large has been rejecting the criteria used to protect articles written by fans like you since the early days. While the many horse fans have become admins to keep WP:NRODEO alive, the incels on this project lost Wikipedia:PORNBIO while the military enthusiasts lost WP:SOLDIER. While I understand each community likes their articles about train stations, corporate executives, or TV shows, Wikipedia tends not to want to presume notability and prefers a preponderance of sources per WP:GNG. Please try to see this from outside your own tinted view. Find WP:SIGCOV or find a different wiki. Your fellow editors have no solidarity with you. My interests on this site extend way beyond poker - it is not my agenda to create lots of poker player articles, and personally I have created exactly zero of them! I simply hoped that you might have some insight into the criteria for a poker player being worthy of an article, but it seems like some people have one opinion and some people have another, so basically I am none the wiser.
