Manuela Wossowski studied fine arts at the Kunstakademie Düsseldorf, where she became a master student of Jörg Immendorff in 2003. She became known for her narrative small-format paper paintings, which she arranged into expansive installations.
Since 2009, she has increasingly focussed on open-air painting, from 2018 developing large-format canvas paintings that she builds on linocuts and paints over.
She has been honoured with the travel scholarship of the Gesellschaft von Freunden und Förderern der Kunstakademie Düsseldorf and the dHCS studio scholarship of the Kunstverein für die Rheinlande und Westfalen.
