In 2023 the SPLA has continued to launch daily attacks and bombardments against Moroccan positions along the berm.[189][190]
As of 13 May 2024, the SPLA continues to claim deadly and regular attacks on Moroccan military positions near the berm, and that the fighting has extended to the Moroccan interior.[197] An April 2024 report by the International Crisis Group summarizing the conflict notes that Moroccan foreign minister Nasser Bourita acknowledges ongoing hostilities.[198]
The Polisario Front claims to have killed three Moroccan soldiers. Rabat has so far neither confirmed nor denied this announcement made by the Saharawi independence movement.
