Template talk:Digimon

A lot of cleanup is still required.
The optimal method of displaying the characters is still eluding me.
We may then backport the proposals to the existing templates.
Template cleanup should maybe be combined with article and list cleanup (not to mention a complete re-organisation).

A lot like 5 different templates:P? I presume you mean something like: |group2=Anime

|list2={{Navbox subgroup|...|group3=Digimon Frontier |list3=Episodes{{•}}Characters (list...){{•}}Digimon (list...)}}

Suggestion

Might I suggest making the listing of characters optional based on a switch or something. We don't really need that wall of links for every Digimon related article across the franchise, just the ones that directly deal with the anime series. -- Ned Scott 09:16, 30 September 2009 (UTC)[reply]

It's time for a major change on this one

So, to start off, can someone tell me what's so bad about this one?

As far as I'm concerned the current one isn't direct enough. Most who come to the Digimon page will be looking for the anime and a navbox, naturally, makes for a more easier navigating experience on Wikipedia. My change was to bring the anime out of the area it was in to give it an importance and to govern the rest of the page. To be fair, the anime is the main "thing" with Digimon. Unlike Pokémon, the games didn't sell as much as the anime was watched (and loved!) I was very influenced by {{The Matrix}} infobox template on this one while adding the need to place "Characters" links to the needed areas so they're all together. I went further to make "Digidestined" and "List of Digimon" part of the top of the infobox, under "Digimon" and <small>

Can someone provide an error on my willful enthusiasm?

Now, Frietjes has said of my change "looks horrible on a narrow display, and strange use of italics" but can this be accommodated for?

Digimon Story
