Telésforo Alexander Isaac (born January 5, 1929)[1] is a retired bishop of the Diocese of the Dominican Republic in The Episcopal Church,[2][3] serving from 1972 to 1991.[4] He was ordained and consecrated on March 9, 1972[5] and was the first Dominican bishop in the Anglican Communion.[6]
He established the Centro de Estudios Teológicos (Center for Theological Studies) in Santo Domingo in 1978.[7] In 1985, along with the Dominican Association for Rehabilitation, he led the diocese in a polio vaccination campaign for children birth to five years old.[6] He is also the author of Consejería Pastoral Noutética, an anthology of articles in Spanish on spiritual counseling.[8]
Quezada es el tercer dominicano en dirigir la Iglesia Episcopal en el país, sucediendo al obispo Holguín quien estuvo en el cargo desde el 1991 al 2017, y este a su vez a Telésforo Isaac de 1972 hasta el 1991, el primero en dirigir la comunidad episcopal.
