Montpensier (French pronunciation: [mɔ̃pɑ̃sje]; Occitan: Monpansèir) is a commune in the Puy-de-Dôme département in Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes region of central France.^[3]

Its inhabitants are called Montpensierois^[4] or Montpensiérois.^[5]
