David Jeng is a Gambian entrepreneur, innovation strategist, and intellectual property expert. He is the founder and managing consultant of Bliss Executives and managing director of Chapman Xpress Financial Services. Jeng is recognized as an Intellectual Property Expert for the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) and serves on the boards of the Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry.[1][2]
Jeng is a fellow of the Institute of Consulting [3]and Mandela Washington Fellow.[3] He was named twiced as one of the 100 Most Influential Young Africans by the Pan African Leadership Foundation in 2024 and 2025.[4]
David Jeng was born in Banjul, The Gambia. He completed his primary education at Methodist Preparatory School and his secondary education at Gambia Methodist Academy.
Jeng completed a Bachelor's degree in Marketing and Finance at the University of The Gambia and a Master's in Intellectual Property under the WIPO-ARIPO-Africa University program. He also undertook coursework in Patent Law and Global Public Health at Harvard Law School.
Jeng began his professional career as a Business Support Coordinator at Startup Incubator Gambia, where he facilitated the development of early-stage ventures.
He establish Gambia first business incubation hub, designed accelerator programs, mentored startups, and contributed to the creation of more than 180 jobs between 2015 and 2018.[5]
In 2023, he founded Bliss Executives, a management consultancy firm focused on supporting small enterprise growth across Africa. He also serves as managing director of Chapman Xpress Financial Services.
On 2nd September 2022, The Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry (GCCI) Elected Jeng at it Annual General Meeting (AGM)[6][7] and In 2025 he was re-elected. [8]
He was Selected recipients of the prestigious Africa’s Under 40 CEOs Awards. [9]
Jeng serves on the Board of Directors of the Gambia Chamber of Commerce and Industry. He is also a member of the National Intellectual Property Council of The Gambia and serves on the Board of the President's International Award Scheme.
He is a member and chairperson of University of the Gambia Alumni Association. [10]
He serves as Strategy Chair of the Next Einstein Forum Community of Scientist Executives and is a founding member of #MyAfCFTA, a Pan-African initiative supporting implementation of the African Continental Free Trade Area. Jeng is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Management and Leadership.
Consultancy and international development work Since 2021, Jeng has served as an International Intellectual Property Expert for the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO). In this capacity, he has led capacity-building programs, including the IP+ Accelerator Program for SMEs in The Gambia and the IP Agribusiness Program for Women Entrepreneurs in Africa.
