Detecon International GmbH is a German company based in Cologne, specializing in management and technology consulting, and operating at the international level. As an independent company within the Deutsche Telekom group, Detecon acts as a consulting partner for the Advisory Services business division of the Telekom subsidiaryT-Systems International GmbH.[2]
History
Detecon International GmbH emerged from the merger of the consulting companies Detecon and Diebold on 1 August 2002. Diebold was founded by John Diebold in New York City in 1954. In 1959, Diebold opened the first branch offices in Germany. The first Swiss branch was established in 1986; at the same time, the consulting portfolio was expanded by the addition of business strategies and process re-engineering. In August 2012, Detecon moved its headquarters from Bonn to Cologne and new premises at Sternengasse 14-16.
In 1977, Detecon, previously operating under the name Deutsche Telepost Consulting, was founded to provide consulting services to the telecommunications industry. In view of the growing importance of IT and TC technologies in areas far beyond the narrow confines of actual telecommunications, Detecon has taken this expertise as its starting point to offer consulting services to clients from virtually all industries. Nevertheless, the focus of the company's services remains on consulting and implementation solutions[buzzword] based on the use of information and communications technologies.
In Germany, according to the 2023 Lünendonk list, Detecon is ranked 7th among the leading German management consulting firms.[1]
Locations
Besides its main headquarters in Cologne, Detecon maintains additional locations in Germany, including Dresden, Frankfurt am Main, Berlin and Munich. Furthermore, the company operates international branches in Abu Dhabi (UAE) and Johannesburg (South Africa), as well as subsidiaries in China, Dubai, Austria, Hungary, Sweden, Thailand, the USA, and Switzerland.[3]
