British politician (elected 2024)
Alexandra Baker (born 1982 or 1983)[ 1] [ 2] is a British Labour Party politician serving as Member of Parliament (MP) for Aldershot since 2024.
Early life and career
Baker received a Bachelor of Arts in Technology and History of Art from the University of Birmingham in 2006.
She began her career as a political officer for the Co-operative Party , and subsequently worked as a Co-operative Group membership officer.[ 3] Baker worked in several roles on the Battersea Power Station regeneration prior to her election to Parliament.[ 4]
Political career
Baker was elected as MP for Aldershot at the 2024 general election , defeating her Conservative predecessor Leo Docherty .[ 5] She became the first non-Conservative to represent the constituency since its establishment in 1918, as well as its first ever female MP.[ 6] [ 4]
Personal life
Baker has two children.[ 4]
