The 1973–74 Pittsburgh Penguins season was the franchise's seventh season in the National Hockey League. The 'Century Line' of Syl Apps Jr., Lowell MacDonald and Jean Pronovost was established this season. The trio took their name as a result of combining for more than 100 goals over the course of the year. The Penguins failed to make the playoffs for the second consecutive year.
