Οικόσημο του Μπρουνέι

Το εθνόσημο του Μπρουνέι εμφανίζεται κυρίως στη σημαία του Μπρουνέι που είναι εξ ολοκλήρου ερυθρό. Η αρχική του καθιέρωση έγινε το 1932. Υπάρχουν πέντε κύρια στοιχεία στο εθνόσημο, σύμφωνα με την επίσημη ιστοσελίδα της κυβέρνησης. Αυτά είναι η βασιλική σημαία, η βασιλική ομπρέλα για τον ήλιο, οι οριζόντια αναπεταμένες πτέρυγες, οι ικετευτικές χείρες και η αντεστραμένη ημισέληνος. Πάνω στην ημισέληνο, που αποτελεί σύμβολο του Ισλάμ, φέρονται με χρυσά γράμματα οι λέξεις (στα αραβικά) ""Πάντα στην υπηρεσία με τη βοήθεια του Θεού" (το εθνικό ρητό της χώρας). Κάτω από αυτό φέρεται ταινία με την ονομασία της χώρας στα αραβικά επίσης με χρυσά γράμματα "Brunei Darussalam" που σημαίνει Μπρουνέι, Γη της Ειρήνης.

Οι πτέρυγες συμβολίζουν την προστασία της δικαιοσύνης και της ειρήνης. Κάτω από αυτές υπάρχει η μουσουλμανική ημισέληνος, καθώς το Ισλάμ είναι η κυρίαρχη θρησκεία στο Μπρουνέι. Τα χέρια της ικεσίας που φέρονται αντιτακτά της ημισελήνου υπενθυμίζουν αφενός μεν το ρητό, αλλά και κατ΄ επέκταση το καθήκον της κυβέρνησης να προστατεύει το λαό.
