Ο Τύμβος Μικρής Δοξιπάρας-Ζώνης είναι ένα Ρωμαϊκό ταφικό μνημείο/Τύμβος το οποίο χρονολογείται από το 2ο αιώνα μ.Χ. και βρίσκεται κοντά στα χωριά Μικρή Δοξιπάρα, Ζώνη και Χελιδόνα στο Νομό Έβρου [2] [3]. Βρίσκεται 33,5 χιλιόμετρα δυτικά από το Διδυμότειχο και 30,6 χιλιόμετρα δυτικά από την Ορεστιάδα [4]. Σήμερα ο τύμβος δεν είναι οργανωμένος αρχαιολογικός χώρος αλλά ανασκαφή στην οποία επιτρέπεται η επίσκεψη σε τουρίστες. Η ανασκαφική έρευνα ξεκίνησε το 2002 από την ΙΘ΄Εφορεία Προϊστορικών και Κλασικών Αρχαιοτήτων Θράκης [5].

Περιγραφή

Τον 2ο αιώνα στο τύμβο τάφηκαν τέσσερα μέλη μιας πλούσιας οικογένειας γαιοκτημόνων (τριών ανδρών και μιας γυναίκας) μαζί με τις άμαξες και τα άλογά τους. Στις ανασκαφές έχουν βρεθεί οι άμαξες και τα οστά των αλόγων.[3] Στον τύμβο βρέθηκαν και τα υπολείμματα της καύσης των τεσσάρων ατόμων[6]. Ο Τύμβος έχει διάμετρο 60μ και έχει ύψος 7,5μ. Η αρχαιολογική έρευνα έχει δείξει ότι στην Βόρεια Θράκη (την Ρωμαϊκή εποχή) οι οικογένειες πλούσιων γαιοκτημόνων επέλεγαν την ταφή τους σε τύμβους γύρω από τα κτήματά τους [5].
