Το Μελιδόνι είναι μικρός οικισμός στην Πελοπόννησο και την Περιφερειακή Ενότητα Αρκαδίας.[2][3]

Γενικά στοιχεία

Το Μελιδόνι βρίσκεται προς τα όρια με την Περιφερειακή Ενότητα Αχαΐας και Ηλείας σε υψόμετρο 303 μέτρα[4]. Απέχει 44 χλμ. Δ.-ΒΔ. από τη Δημητσάνα (έδρα του δήμου), 82 χλμ. Δ.-ΒΔ. από την Τρίπολη και 55 χλμ. Α. από τον Πύργο ενώ στα νότια περνάει η ΕΟ Τρίπολης - Ολυμπίας. Αναφέρεται επίσημα, ως Μελιδώνι, για πρώτη φορά το 1835 στο ΦΕΚ 16Α - 24/05/1835 να προσαρτάται στον τότε δήμο Θελπούσης και το 1879 να καταργείται. Αναφέρεται ξανά το 1961 ως Μελιδόνιον να απογράφεται στην κοινότητα Τροπαίων.[5] Σύμφωνα με το σχέδιο Καλλικράτης μαζί με τα Τρόπαια αποτελούν την κοινότητα Τροπαίων[6] που υπάγεται στην ομώνυμη δημοτική ενότητα του Δήμου Γορτυνίας και σύμφωνα με την την απογραφή του 2011 απογράφησαν 37 κάτοικοι[7] ενώ με αυτήν του 2001 ήταν 60[8].
