Ο Ανδρέας Μακρής (7 Μαρτίου 1930, Θεσσαλονίκη - 3 Φεβρουαρίου 2005, Μέριλαντ) ήταν διακεκριμένος Ελληνοαμερικάνος συνθέτης και βιολιστής.

Καριέρα

Κατάγονταν από το Κιλκίς, όπου και μεγάλωσε, φοιτώντας εκεί στο σχολείο. Στη συνέχεια, σπούδασε στο Εθνικό Ωδείο της Ελλάδας και συνέχισε τις σπουδές του στη Γαλλία και στην Αμερική. Υπήρξε συνθέτης της Εθνικής Συμφωνικής Ορχήστρας στην Ουάσιγκτον υπό τον διάσημο μαέστρο Ροστροπόβιτς και έργα του έχουν παρουσιαστεί στο «Κέντρο Τεχνών Κένεντι» της αμερικανικής πρωτεύουσας και σε πολλές άλλες πόλεις της Αμερικής και του υπόλοιπου κόσμου.

Συνέθεσε περίπου 100 έργα για ορχήστρα, σύνολα μουσικής δωματίου, σόλο όργανα, συμπεριλαμβανομένου του Φεστιβάλ Αιγαίου «Overture», όπου η σύνθεση του στη συναυλία του Άλμπερτ Βέιντερ (Albert Bader) των USAF, έγινε ένα δημοφιλές κομμάτι με τις αμερικανικές μπάντες.

Ήταν μέλος του τμήματος των πρώτων βιολιών της Εθνικής Συμφωνικής Ορχήστρας των Ηνωμένων Πολιτειών για 28 χρόνια. Στο παρελθόν κατείχε θέσεις στη Συμφωνική Ορχήστρα του Ντάλας και την Συμφωνική Ορχήστρα του Σεντ Λούις.Οι συνθέσεις του έχουν παρουσιαστεί στις Ηνωμένες Πολιτείες, τη Νότια Αμερική, τον Καναδά, την Ευρώπη, τη Ρωσία και την Ιαπωνία .

Πέθανε στις 3 Φεβρουαρίου του 2005 στο σπίτι του στο Σίλβερ Σπρινγκς (Silver Spring) της πολιτείας του Μέριλαντ. Η κληρονομιά του συνεχίζεται μέσα από το έργο του Ιδρύματος Μακρή.
