Rwaniro (Kinyarwanda Umurenge wa Rwaniro) ist einer von 14 Sektoren des Distrikts Huye in der Südprovinz von Ruanda.

Geographie

Der Sektor Rwaniro hat eine Fläche von 54,1 km² und setzt sich administrativ aus den sieben Zellen Gatwaro, Kamwambi, Kibiraro, Mwendo, Nyamabuye, Nyaruhombo und Shyunga zusammen. Nachbarsektoren sind im Norden Rwabicuma und Busasamana, im Nordosten Kinazi, im Osten Rusatira, im Südosten Ruhashya, im Süden Simbi im Südwesten Kigoma, im Westen Cyanika und im Nordwesten Nyagisozi.[1][2][3.1]

Bevölkerung

Nach Stand der Volkszählung von 2022 liegt die Einwohnerzahl bei 23.239. Zehn Jahre zuvor waren es 21.595, was einem jährlichen Bevölkerungszuwachs von 0,7 Prozent zwischen 2012 und 2022 entspricht.[3.2][4][1]

Verkehr

Durch den Sektor verläuft eine District Road.[5][6][3.1]
