Prifddinas swyddogol Tansanïa yw Dodoma. Fe'i lleolir yn Rhanbarth Dodoma yng nghanolbarth y wlad, tua 486 km i'r gorllewin o'r gyn-brifddinas Dar es Salaam a 441 km i'r de o Arusha. Roedd ganddi boblogaeth o tua 324,000 yn 2002. Y bobl Gogo, Rangi, Sandawe a Burunge yw prif grwpiau ethnig yr ardal.

Roedd Dodoma yn safle pwysig ar y rheilffordd rhwng Cefnfor India a Llyn Tanganica yn hanesyddol. Fe'i datganwyd yn brifddinas Tansanïa ym 1974 a symudodd y Cynulliad Cenedlaethol yno ym 1996 ond mae llawer o swyddfeydd y llywodraeth yn aros yn Dar es Salaam.
