Tetrosomus gibbosus és una espècie de peix de la família dels ostràcids i de l'ordre dels tetraodontiformes.

Morfologia

• Els mascles poden assolir 30 cm de longitud total.^[2][3]

Alimentació

Menja invertebrats bentònics.^[2]

Hàbitat

És un peix marí, de clima tropical i associat als esculls de corall que viu entre 37-110 m de fondària.^[2][4]

Distribució geogràfica

Es troba des del Mar Roig (des d'on ha emigrat a la Mediterrània a través del Canal de Suez)^[5][6][7] i l'Àfrica oriental fins a Indonèsia, el sud del Japó i el nord d'Austràlia.^{[2][8][9][10][11][12][13][14][15][16][17][18][19][20][21][22][23][24][25][26][27][28][29][30][31][32][33][34]}

Observacions

És verinós per als humans.^[2]
