Paralutra és un gènere extint de mamífers carnívors de la família dels mustèlids que visqueren a Europa durant el Miocè, fa entre 9,7 i 16,9 milions d'anys. Se n'han trobat restes fòssils a França, Hongria i Itàlia, així com el jaciment dels Casots, a Subirats (Alt Penedès).[1] Hi ha dubtes sobre el monofiletisme d'aquest grup. Segons un estudi publicat el 2018, P. jaegeri ocupa una posició basal respecte a Siamogale, mentre que P. garganensis té vincles estrets amb Enhydritherium i Paludolutra, a l'arrel de l'arbre evolutiu de les llúdries europees i nord-americanes.[2] El nom genèric Paralutra significa ‘al costat de Lutra’.
