Funkcija

Unc93A je natporodica (MFS) i navodno rastvornih nosača kod ljudi.[7][8] Pripada atipskim SLC-ovima koji su nedavno referirani.[7] Stoga se pretpostavlja  da je UNC93A transportni protein.

UNC93A je blisko  povezan sa proteinima UNC93B1 i MFSD11.[9][10]

Na UNC93A utiče nedostatak aminokiselina u kulturama ćelija korteksa [8][9] i izgladnjivanje u uvjetima  in vivo  .[9]

Eksprimira se u neuronima, sa bojenjem blizu plazmamembrana.[9]
