Funkcija
Ovaj gen kodira tripsinu sličnu serin -proteazu koja se oslobađa iz submukozel serozne žlijezde na sluzničnu membranu. To je integralni membranski protein tipa II i ima 29-38% identiteta u sekvenci katalitske regije sa ljudskim hepsinom , enteropeptidazom , akrozinom , i mastocitnom triptazom . Nekatalitska regija ima malo sličnosti s drugim poznatim proteinima. Ovaj protein može imati određenu biološku ulogu u odbrambenom sistemu domaćina na sluzokožama , nezavisno ili u saradnji sa drugim supstancama u sluzokoži disajnih puteva ili bronhijskim sekretima.[ 7]
