দ্বিজ মাধব

দ্বিজ মাধব বা মাধবাচার্য ষোড়শ শতাব্দী তথা মধ্যযুগের একজন বাঙালি কবি এবং মধ্যযুগীয় বাংলা সাহিত্যের চণ্ডীমঙ্গলকাব্য ঐতিহ্যের অন্যতম উল্লেখযোগ্য অবদানকারী। উত্তরবঙ্গ ও চট্টগ্রামে এই কোভিদ কাব্য খুবই সুপরিচিত। চট্টগ্রামে দ্বিজমাধবের পুরো চণ্ডীমঙ্গল ও ব্রত কথা ছোট ছোট পুঁথি পাওয়া গেছে। কিন্তু পশ্চিমবঙ্গে এ কাব্যের বিশেষ প্রচলন নাই। কবি কোথাও কোন ভণিতায় তাঁর কাব্যের নাম ‘চণ্ডীমঙ্গল’ বলেননি, কিন্তু কবি নিজে এ কাব্যকে মাঝে মাঝে ‘সারদাচরিত’ বলেছেন, যা ‘সারদামঙ্গল জাগরণ’ নামে পরিচিত বা ‘মঙ্গলচণ্ডীর গীত’, সম্ভবত ১৫৭৯ সালে লেখা হয়েছিল।[১][২]

কবি দ্বিজ মাধব সপ্তগ্রাম-ত্রিবেণী আধুনিক দিনের অঞ্চল হুগলি জেলায় জন্মগ্রহণ করেন। [৩] তার পিতা পারাশর যেমন সারদা চরিত্রে বর্ণিত, তিনি একজন ব্রাহ্মণ ছিলেন। দ্বিজা মাধবকে বৈষ্ণবদের মধ্যে জনপ্রিয় শ্রীকৃষ্ণ মঙ্গল রচনাকারী হিসাবেও চিহ্নিত করা হয়েছে; তবে এর লেখালেখিতে এ বিষয়ে সন্দেহ করেছেন বিদ্বানরা। [১]

দ্বিজ মাধবের রচনার পাণ্ডুলিপি আধুনিক বাংলাদেশের চট্টগ্রাম অঞ্চলে পাওয়া যায়, যেখানে পরবর্তী কালে সম্ভবত কবি পশ্চিমবঙ্গ থেকে চলে এসেছিলেন। [৩]
