বহি:ক্ষরা গ্রন্থি হচ্ছে সেইসব গ্রন্থি যারা নালীর মাধ্যমে আবরণী টিস্যুর উপরিভাগে পদার্থ উৎপন্ন এবং ক্ষরণ করে।[১] বহি:ক্ষরা গ্রন্থির উদাহরনের মধ্যে আছে ঘর্ম গ্ৰন্থি, মুখের লালা গ্ৰন্থি, স্তন, সেরুমিনাস, লেক্রিমাল, সেবাসিয়াস এবং মিউকাস। বহি:ক্ষরা গ্রন্থি মানুষের দেহের দুই প্রকার গ্রন্থির মধ্যে একটি, অপরটি হচ্ছে অন্তঃক্ষরা গ্রন্থি যা তাদের পদার্থগুলকে সরাসরি রক্তে ক্ষরণ করে। যকৃত এবং অগ্ন্যাশয় উভয় অন্তঃক্ষরা এবং বহিঃক্ষরা গ্রন্থি; তারা বহি:ক্ষরা গ্রন্থি কারণ তারা পিত্ত এবং অগ্ন্যাশয় রস উভয়ই একসারি নালীর মাধ্যমে গ্যাস্ট্রোইনটেস্টাইনাল ট্র্যাক্টে ক্ষরণ করে এবং অন্তঃক্ষরা গ্রন্থি কারণ তারা অন্যান্য পদার্থ সরাসরি রক্তে ক্ষরণ করে।

প্রকারভেদ

গঠনভেদে

বহি:ক্ষরা গ্রন্থি একটি গ্রন্থি অংশ ও একটি নালী অংশ ধারণ করে, যার গঠনকে গ্রন্থির শ্রেণিবিন্যাস করার জন্য ব্যবহার করা যায় [১]

  • নালীর অংশটি শ্বাখান্নিত(জটিল বলা হয়) অথবা অশাখান্নিত (সরল বলা হয়) হতে পারে।
  • গ্রন্থিময় অংশটি নলাকৃতির অথবা এসিনাসময় হতে পারে অথবা দুইটির মিশ্রণেও হতে পারে(নলযুক্ত এসিনার বলা হয় )। যদি গ্রন্থিময় অংশটি শাখন্নিত হয় তবে এই গ্রন্থিকে শাখান্নিত গ্রন্থি বলা হয়।

ক্ষরণের পদ্ধতির উপর ভিত্তি করে

বহিঃক্ষরা গ্রন্থি গুলোকে তাদের ক্ষরণের পদ্ধতির উপর ভিত্তি করে অ্যাপোক্রাইন গ্রন্থি, মেরোক্রাইন গ্রন্থি ও হলোক্রাইন গ্রন্থি নামে ভাগ করা যায়[১]

  • মেরোক্রাইন ক্ষরণ – কোষ এক্সোসাইটোসিসের মাধ্যমে তাদের পদার্থ ক্ষরণ করে; যেমন অগ্ন্যাশয়ের এসিনার কোষ।
  • অ্যাপোক্রাইন ক্ষরণ – কোষ প্রাচীরের একটি অংশ যা ক্ষরিত পদার্থ বহন করে।
  • হলোক্রাইন ক্ষরণ – এর পদার্থ ক্ষরণের জন্য পুরো কোষটি ধ্বংসপ্রাপ্ হয়ে যায়; যেমন ত্বক এবং নাকের সিবেসিয়াস গ্রন্থি।

ক্ষরিত পদার্থের উপর ভিত্তি করে

  • সেরাস কোষ আমিষ ক্ষরণ করে যা প্রায়ই এনজাইম। উদাহরনের অন্তর্ভুক্ত আছে গ্যাস্ট্রিক কোষ এবং পানেথ কোষ।
  • মিউকাস কোষ ক্ষরণ করে মিউকাস। উদাহরণের মধ্যে আছে ব্রানারের গ্রন্থি, এসোফেজিয়াল গ্রন্থি এবং পাইলোরিক গ্রন্থি।
  • মিশ্রিত গ্রন্তিগুলো উভয় আমিষ ও মিউকাস ক্ষরণ করে। উদাহরনের মধ্যে আছে লালা গ্রন্থি: যদিও প্যারোটিড গ্রন্থি আগের থেকেই ২০% সেরাস, সাব্লিঙ্গুয়াল গ্রন্থি প্রধানত ৫% মিউকাস গ্রন্থি এবং সাব ম্যানডিবুলার ৭০% মিশ্রিত যা প্রধানত সেরাস গ্রন্থি।
