কানু সান্যাল (ইংরেজি: Kanu Sanyal), (১৯৩২[১] – ২৩ মার্চ, ২০১০),[২] ছিলেন একজন ভারতীয় রাজনীতিবিদ। ১৯৬৭ সালে তিনি নকশাল আন্দোলনের অন্যতম প্রধান নেতা ছিলেন। তিনি ছিলেন ভারতের কমিউনিস্ট পার্টি (মার্কসবাদী-লেনিনবাদী) বা সিপিআই (এম-এল) এর ১৯৬৯ সালের প্রতিষ্ঠাতাদের অন্যতম। তিনি মার্চ ২৩ মার্চ ২০১০ তারিখে আত্মহত্যা করেন।[৩]

প্রারম্ভিক জীবন

দার্জিলিং-এর অন্তর্গত কার্শিয়াং এ জন্মগ্রহণ করেন কানু সান্যাল। পিতা অন্নদাগোবিন্দ সান্যাল ও মাতা নির্মলা সান্যালের সাত পুত্র ও কন্যা সন্তানের মধ্যে তিনি ছিলেন তৃতীয়। জলপাইগুড়ির আনন্দচন্দ্র কলেজে ইন্টারমিডিয়েট পড়াকালীন তিনি রাজনীতি সম্পর্কে কৌতূহলী হয়ে ওঠেন ও ক্রমশ সাম্যবাদী মতাদর্শের সঙ্গে পরিচিত হন। কিছু দিন পর তদানীন্তন নিষিদ্ধ ভারতের কমিউনিস্ট পার্টির ছাত্র শাখায় কাজ শুরু করেন। আর্থিক অনটনের কারণে পড়াশুনা চালাতে পারেননি। জলপাইগুড়ির মহকুমা শাসকের অধীনে রাজ্য সরকারের ভূমি দপ্তরে চাকরি নিতে বাধ্য হন তিনি। রাজনৈতিক আন্দোলনে জেলে গেলে তার সাথে পরিচয় হয় উত্তর বঙ্গের তেভাগা আন্দোলনের প্রাণপুরুষ চারু মজুমদারের সাথে। এর পর থেকে কমিউনিস্ট মতাদর্শ ও রাজনীতিকে দৃঢ়ভাবে আঁকড়ে ধরেন তিনি।

রাজনীতি

জেল থেকে মুক্তিলাভ করে ১৯৫০ সালে অবিভক্ত ভারতীয় কমিউনিস্ট পার্টির সদস্য পদ লাভ করেন কানু সান্যাল। ১৯৫২ সালের এপ্রিল মাসে তিনি পার্টির সর্বক্ষণের কর্মী হিসাবে দার্জিলিং জেলার গ্রামে কৃষক আন্দোলন গড়ে তুলতে আত্মনিয়োগ করেন। তিনি ছিলেন চা শ্রমিক ও ভূমিহীন চাষীদের অন্যতম সংগঠক। তার নেতৃত্বে তরাই অঞ্চলে জঙ্গি জমি দখল আন্দোলন সংগঠিত হয়। ১৯৫৩ খৃষ্ঠাব্দে তিনি শিলিগুড়ি মহকুমা কৃষক সমিতির সম্পাদক হন এবং কেরালার মালাবারের অন্তর্গত কান্নানোরে অনুষ্ঠিত সারাভারত কিষাণ সভার সম্মেলনে যোগ দেন। ১৯৫৬ সালে তিনি দার্জিলিং জেলা কৃষক সভার সম্পাদক নির্বাচিত হন। পরের বছর পর প্রাদেশিক কৃষক সভার কাউন্সিলের সদস্যপদ পান। ১৯৬২ সালে ভারত-চীন যুদ্ধ বা সীমান্ত সংঘর্ষকে কেন্দ্র করে ‘ডিফেন্স অব ইন্ডিয়া রুল’-এ গ্রেপ্তার হন কানু সান্যাল। জেল থেকে ছাড়া পেয়ে পার্টির জেলা সম্পাদকমণ্ডলীর সদস্য পদ পান। ১৯৬৪ সালে পার্টি ভাগ হলে তিনি ভারতের কমিউনিস্ট পার্টি (মার্ক্সবাদী)তে যোগ দিয়েছিলেন।[৪]

নকশাল আন্দোলন

মাও সেতুং নির্দেশিত সশস্ত্র কৃষি বিপ্লবের রণনীতি ও রণকৌশলের পক্ষে সওয়াল করা চারু মজুমদারের পথের তিনি ছিলেন অন্যতম সমর্থক। ক্ষমতায় আসীন যুক্তফ্রন্ট সরকার কে প্রতিক্রিয়াশীল বলে চিহ্নিত করেন তিনি। সিপিআই (এম) এর একটি অংশ পার্টির রাজনীতিকে সংশোধনবাদী আখ্যা দেয়। ১৯৬৭ সালে উত্তরবঙ্গ জুড়ে সশস্ত্র কৃষি বিপ্লবের ডাক দেওয়ায় কৃষক ও ভূমিহার জনতার একটি অংশ বিদ্রোহী হয়ে ওঠে। ২৪ মে গ্রামে পুলিশ ঢুকলে কৃষকদের আক্রমণে মারা যায় ইন্সপেক্টর সোনাম ওয়াংদি। পরদিন ২৫ মে, যুক্তফ্রন্ট সরকার পরিচালিত পুলিশবাহিনী নকশালবাড়ির প্রসাদজোতে দুজন শিশুসহ ১৩-কে হত্যা করে। মৃতেরা অধিকাংশই ছিলেন মহিলা। কৃষকরা ব্যপক অর্থে বিদ্রোহী হন যাদের সামনে থেকে নেতৃত্ব দান করেন কানু সান্যাল। কমিউনিস্ট পার্টি নেতৃত্ব কানু সান্যাল ও অন্যান্য বিদ্রোহীদের বহিষ্কার করে। চীনের কম্যুনিস্ট পার্টি এই কৃষক সংগ্রামকে আখ্যা দেয় ‘ভারতের বুকে বসন্তের বজ্র নির্ঘোষ। চারু মজুমদারের নির্দেশে তিনি, সৌরেন বসু, খোকন মজুমদার ও দীপক বিশ্বাস চীন যাত্রা করেন। সেখানে তারা মাও ৎসে-তুং সহ অন্যান্য চীনা নেতাদের সাথে দেখা করেন। ১৯৬৭-র ১১-ই নভেম্বর শহীদ মিনার, কলকাতা ময়দানে এক প্রকাশ্য সভায় চারু মজুমদার কানু সান্যালকে নকশালবাড়ির প্রধান নেতা বলে চিহ্নিত করেছিলেন।[৪] ১৩ নভেম্বর প্রমোদরঞ্জন সেনগুপ্তকে সভাপতি করে তৈরি হয় সারা ভারত কো-অর্ডিনেশনের কমিটি। কানু সান্যাল ছাড়াও তাতে অংশগ্রহণ করেছিলেন সুশীতল রায়চৌধুরী, সরোজ দত্ত, অসিত সেন, সত্যনারায়ণ সিং, গুরবক্স সিং, রাজকিশোর সিং, রামপেয়ারি শরাফ, শিবকুমার মিশ্র, শিউনন্দন তেওয়ারি, চৌধুরী তেজেশ্বর রাও, নাগ ভূষণ পট্টনায়ক প্রমুখ।

গ্রেপ্তার

৩১ অক্টোবর, ১৯৬৮ মধ্যরাত্রে বিরসিংজোতের গ্রাম থেকে ঘুমন্ত অবস্থায় কানু সান্যালকে গ্রেপ্তার করে পুলিশ। জেলে গিয়ে তারা অন্যান্য কমরেডদের সাথে মিলে অনশন শুরু করেন। ২৬-এ ডিসেম্বর কানু সান্যালকে হাসপাতালে স্থানান্তরিত করা হয়। বাইরে তার মুক্তির জন্য আন্দোলন শুরু হয়। ১৯৬৯-এর ৯-ই এপ্রিল ছাড়া কানু সান্যাল। আন্দোলনের কাজে অন্ধ্রপ্রদেশের শ্রীকাকুলাম যান এবং বাংলায় ফিরে ১৯৬৯ এর আগস্ট মাসে আবার ধরা পড়েন। তাকে বিশাখাপত্তনম জেলে পাঠানো হয়।[৪] তার গ্রেফতারের খবরের ভিত্তিতে কমিউনিস্টদের দ্বারা বিভিন্ন অঞ্চলে সহিংসতার স্ফুলিঙ্গ ছড়িয়ে পড়ে। সি পি আই (এম-এল) ক্যাডারগণ সম্পত্তি, শিক্ষাপ্রতিষ্ঠান আক্রমণ করেন, এবং দাঙ্গা জড়িত হয়ে ধ্বংস অভিযান চালান।[৫]

শেষ জীবন

তিনি আন্তঃপার্টি সংগ্রামে শেষ পর্যন্ত দলে কোণঠাসা হয়ে পড়েছিলেন। চারু মজুমদারের রাজনীতির প্রকাশ্য সমালোচনাও করেন। ১৯৭৯ সালে কানু সান্যাল জেল থেকে ছাড়া পান। তার উদ্যোগে কম্যুনিস্ট বিপ্লবীদের সংগঠনী কমিটি বা ওসিসিআর (এম-এল), ওসিসিআর (এম-এল), ইউসিসিআর (এম-এল), সিওসি-সিপিআই (এম-এল), সিপিআই (এম-এল) কাইসুর রেঞ্জ, আইসিপি এবং লিবারেশন ফ্রন্ট মিলে সৃষ্টি হয় ভারতের মার্কসবাদী-লেনিনবাদী কম্যুনিস্ট সংগঠন বা সিওআই (এম-এল)।

মৃত্যু

নকশালবাড়ীর সেফতুলাজোত গ্রামে, নিজ গৃহে ২০১০ সালের ২৩ মার্চ, উদ্বন্ধনে আত্মহত্যা করেন কানু সান্যাল। তিনি তীব্র শারীরিক অসুস্থতায় ভুগছিলেন দীর্ঘদিন ধরে।[৬]
