Маніёк, маніёт, маніёк ядомы, касава[1] (Manihot esculenta) — від раслін сямейства Малачайныя (Euphorbiaceae), важная харчовая расліна тропікаў.

Manihot esculenta

Шматгадовая вечназялёная куставая расліна. Маніёк дасягае двух з паловай метраў у вышыню; корань можа дасягаць васьмі сантыметраў у дыяметры і аднаго метра ў даўжыню, маса вагаецца ад трох да дзесяці кг.

Выкарыстанне

Шырока культывуецца ў Афрыцы. У ежу ідзе падобны да бульбіны корань. У караняплодах шмат крухмалу. У сырым выглядзе караняплоды вельмі атрутныя, і ўжываюцца ў ежу толькі варанымі або печанымі. З сырога маніёка робяць крупы (тапіёку), з якой вараць кулеш, а сушаны маніёк перамолваюць ў муку, з якой пякуць тонкія аладкі.
