Həyatı

Vaqif Əmir oğlu Əbdülqasımov 26 avqust 1942 ildə Ağdamda dünyaya gəlmişdir. Ağdam 1 nömrəli orta məktəbdə təhsil almış (1950–1960), eyni zamanda Ağdam 1 nömrəli uşaq musiqi məktəbində (1954–1959), Ü. Hacıbəyov adına Ağdam orta ixtisas musiqi məktəbinin tar sinfində (1959–1963) oxumuşdur. 1963–1968-ci illərdə Ü. Hacıbəyov adına Azərbaycan Dövlət Konservatoriyasının Xalq musiqisi şöbəsində ali təhsil almışdır.

Vaqif Əbdülqasımov Ağdam musiqi məktəbində oxuyarkən rayon mədəniyyət evinin nəzdində yaranmış "Şur" xalq çalğı alətləri ansamblının tərkibində Azərbaycanın bir çox rayon və şəhərlərində verilən konsertlərdə, bir çox respublika müsabiqələrində, 1961-ci ildə Moskvada keçirilmiş musiqi festivalında, müxtəlif səviyyəli hökumət tədbirlərində və s. müsamirələrdə iştirak etmiş, medal və fəxri fərmanlarla təltif olunmuşdur. Bu illər ərzində o, rayon pionerlər evində tar ixtisası üzrə dərnək rəhbəri də olmuşdur. O, Ü. Hacıbəyov adına Azərbaycan Dövlət Konservatoriyasının tələbəsi olarkən 1963–1967-ci illərdə Səid Rüstəmovun rəhbərlik etdiyi Respublika Radio və Televiziya Komitəsi xalq çalğı alətləri orkestrində tarzən işləmişdir.

Vaqif Əbdülqasımov 1 saylı uşaq musiqi məktəbində (1961–1963), Ü. Hacıbəyov adına Ağdam orta ixtisas musiqi məktəbində tar müəllimi, Bakı mədəni maarif texnikumunda (1967–1971) işləmişdir. O, müəllimliklə yanaşı, Ağdam rayon mədəniyyət evinin dram teatrında tarzən kimi fəaliyyət göstərmiş, 1977–1990-cı illərdə Respublika Musiqi Mədəniyyəti Universitetinin rektoru olmuşdur. 1971-ci ildən Bakı Musiqi Akademiyasında işləmişdir. 1984-cü ildə dosent, 1995-ci ildə isə professor adına layiq görülmüşdür. O, "Tarın Azərbaycan musiqisində rolu" mövzusunda dissertasiya müdafiə edib (1990, Daşkənd) sənətşünaslıq namizədi alimlik dərəcəsi almışdır. Özbəkistan Mədəniyyət Nazirliyi Həmzə Həkim-zadə Niyazi adına İncəsənət Elmləri İnstitutu elmi şurasının qərarına əsasən dissertasiyanın bir neçə bölməsi ayrılıqda çap olunmuşdur. Bakı Musiqi Akademiyasının Xalq çalğı alətləri kafedrasının professoru olmuşdur.

Elmi fəaliyyəti

Vaqif Əbdülqasımov Azərbaycan xalq musiqisi alətşünaslıq sahəsində 6 monoqrafiya (Azərbaycan, ingilis, türk, fars dillərində), 2 dərslik və dərs vəsaiti, 6 metodik kitabça və 50-ə qədər elmi məqalənin müəllifidir. Azərbaycan xalq çalğı alətləri orkestri üçün Azərbaycan, Qərbi Avropa, rus və digər xalqların bəstəkarlarının 100-dən çox əsərini (təx. 250 ç.v.həcmində partitura) işləmişdir.
