One could argue that the former Nashville Bible Institute, affiliated with the Churches of Christ in Nashville, Tennessee, largely to maintain segregation at David Lipscomb College, qualified as an HBCU as it had a liberal arts element to its program. There was a more vocationally-oriented, but post-secondary, CofC-affiliated school at Sliver Point, Tennessee for some time.
