Shaheb Chatterjee or Saheb Chatterjee (Bengali: সাহেব চট্টোপাধ্যায়) is a Bengali Indian male actor and singer of Tollywood Bangla and Bengali television.[1][2][3][4][5][6][7][8]
Shaheb Chatterjee, also known as Shaheb Chattopadhyay, is a famous Bengali Indian male actor and singer of Tollywood Bangla films and Bengali television. He is an alumnus of Dakshinee, the Rabindrasangeet institution of Kolkata. He is very popularly noted for his acting and singing, especially in Tagore songs or Rabindra Sangeet.He was perhaps the first Bengali Singer and Actor to have enacted the Role of Swami Vivekananda in an English Play at the Sydney Opera House in the year 2013.The name of the play was-‘ONENESS VOICE WITHOUT FORM’ directed by Australian playwright and director Alex Broun.Shaheb is extremely popular for his Superhit TV Series like-POTOL KUMAR GAANWALA(Star Jalsa in 2016/17),GOYENDA GINNI (Zee Bangla 2015/16),
SANNYASI RAJA (Title role-The king of Bhawal on StarJalsa in 2017/18).In the beginning of his career around 2002,he did innumerable popular television daily soaps like Aleya,Srot,Tarpor Chaand Uthlo,Thakurbari(Role of Prince Dwarakanath Thakur),Khela by Late Ravi Ojha,Utshober Ratri by late Jishu Dasgupta(Title role),Nana Ronger Dinguli(Ravi Ojha),Jibon Niye khela,Sudhu Tomari Jonyo and many more.
He is specially noted for his roles in movies like ‘Shukno Lanka’ with Mithun Chakravarty,’Hitlist’by Sandeep Ray, ‘033’by Birsa Dasgupta,Hatyapuri(Feluda)by Sandip Ray as the antagonist, ‘Cornel’by Raja Sen,’Laboratory’ with Raveena Tandon (Mumbai) by Raja Sen, ‘JOGAJOG’ by Shekhar Das,Baazi by Haranath Chakrabarti,Jibon Sathi as the villain by Shankar Roy,Cornel starring superstar veteran Chiranjit Chakravarty by Raja Sen,Teen Tanaya(as Singer and Actor),Mon Amour(as singer & actor),Hridpindo(Romantic hero),Lukochuri(Antagonist),Love Express and many more.He is also noted for his title role as ‘Sree Chaitanya Mahaprabhu’-a Hindi film by late Gufi Pantel also starting Madhu (Roza) & Sachin khedekar in the year 2006.In 2022 he was seen opposite Radhika Apte in a Hindi Zee5 original film titled Mrs Undercover,directed by Anushree Mehta.He has also done a Hindi web series titled-Black Widows on Zee5 portraying the role of Ramiz Sheikh.In 2024 he has earned accolades for his role as an antagonist in very popular webseries titled ‘BIJOYA’ on Hoichoi(popular App owned by Shree Venkatesh Films).
Recently he is doing a Hindi Film under the banner of Dharma starring R.Madhavan and Fatima sheikh.
Shaheb is also an accomplished anchor on stage and tv.He has hosted non-fiction Musical show: ‘Etv Sa theke Sa junior’.He has done anchoring on many events in popular Bengali TV channels like zee bangla.
His noted Bengali Theatres are- ‘Rani Creusa’ in the role of ‘King Xethus’ by theatre group ‘Chetona’,Ferari Fauj directed by legend late Gyanesh Mukhopadhyay(old project),’Eh Aboron’ directed by Famous actor & director Sree Dulal Lahiri( staged in NABC Bongo Sammelon).
As a singer and performer,he has done innumerable stage performances in places like North America,Canada,Bangladesh and Dubai.In 2023,he earned accolades for his tagore songs in Dubai for a show organised and also performed by ‘Malhar’(school/organisation for music training) & performed a scripted show with another legendary actor Sharmila Tagore,the name of the show being:’Tagore Meets Tagore’.

He appears in the Bengali TV serial Goyenda Ginni, which aired on Zee Bangla, as the husband of the protagonist Parama Mitra, Dr. Porimal Mitra, and as singer Sujon Kumar, in the serial Potol Kumar Ganwala, which is broadcast on Star Jalsha.[10] He appeared as the king of Bhawal, O Tar Sannashi Rani, in the Bengali TV show, Sanyashi Raja, also broadcast on Star Jalsha.
