The university offers undergraduate, postgraduate and professional courses in various fields of study such as Arts, Management Sciences, Education, Health Sciences, Law, Agriculture, and Social Sciences.
History
The National Open University was founded on 1 August 1986, and its opening ceremony took place in November of the same year. Initially, the university conducted entrance examinations, but these were abolished in 1997. The classes were initially delivered through a dedicated radio station, and later expanded to include a television channel and internet classrooms.
Currently, the university is a fully accredited distance learning institution recognized by the Taiwanese government. It offers a comprehensive range of educational services and has an annual enrollment of approximately 35,000 students.
