Curtis is a pollster by profession and worked Political Research Manager for YouGov.[3] He was a political researcher for them in 2017.[4] He was also Head of Political Polling at Opinium Research.[5] In 2022, he alleged his former employer had stopped him from publishing the findings of a survey following a TV debate during the 2017 election campaign.[6] He clarified his position after YouGov founder Nadhim Zahawi was forced to deny he had wielded any influence.[7] Prior to being elected to Parliament, Curtis worked for think tank Labour Together.[8]
