Afro-Ukrainians or Black Ukrainians (Ukrainian: Афроукраїнці, Ukrainian: ТемношкіріDark-skinned), are Ukrainians of Sub-Saharan African descent, including Black people who have settled in Ukraine. Black Ukrainians are multi-lingual, knowing both Russian and Ukrainian in addition to their native languages, and are aware of the cultural conflict in Ukraine between the Ukrainian and Russian languages.[1][2][3] The population of Afro-Ukrainians is rather small and is mostly concentrated in the major cities of Ukraine, such as Kyiv.

Nehr
The Ukrainian word nehr (Ukrainian: негр) is widely used and is a nativized loan word from the French: nègre, lit. 'Negro', itself a nativized loan from the Spanish: negro and the Portuguese: negro.[4] unlike nègre is considered offensive in French, nehr/неɾр is not considered offensive. The native Slavic word for things that are actually black (e.g. a car with black paint) is chórnyy (Ukrainian: чо́рний).
