Maria Sakkari defeated Caroline Dolehide in the final, 7–5, 6–3 to win the singles title at the 2023 Guadalajara Open.[1] She did not lose a set en route to her first WTA 1000 title and her second WTA Tour singles title overall, and her first WTA title since 2019, following six successive runner-up finishes. Dolehide reached her first WTA Tour singles final after saving four match points in the second set of the quarterfinals against Martina Trevisan.[2] Ranked No. 111, she became the second finalist ranked outside the Top 100 after Svetlana Kuznetsova (ranked No. 153) since the introduction of the format in 2009.[3]
Jessica Pegula was the reigning champion,[4] but withdrew before the tournament began.
