American college football season
The 1940 Yale Bulldogs football team represented Yale University in the 1940 college football season. The Bulldogs were led by seventh-year head coach Ducky Pond, played their home games at the Yale Bowl and finished the season with a 1–7 record.[2][3]
Yale was ranked at No. 110 (out of 697 college football teams) in the final rankings under the Litkenhous Difference by Score system for 1940.[4]
