Tony Britten

Tony Britten adalah komponis dari Inggris yang dikenal karena menulis Lagu Kebangsaan Liga Champions UEFA (UEFA Champions League Anthem).[1][2]

Karier

Britten adalah lulusan dari Royal College of Music. Dia menghabiskan beberapa tahun pertama kariernya di teater sebagai sutradara musik, termasuk bekerja untuk Cameron Mackintosh sebagai pengawas musik di banyak pertunjukan termasuk Godspell, The Rocky Horror Show, dan Oliver!. Setelah itu ia bekerja di Teater Nasional Royal sebagai pengarang / sutradara musik. Dia kemudian pindah ke dunia film dan televisi sebagai konduktor pada produksi seperti Robocop. Dia juga bekerjasama dengan sutradara Clive Donner.

Pada tahun 1992, UEFA menugaskan Britten untuk membuat lagu tema untuk Liga Champions UEFA yang dimulai pada November 1992. Britten meminjam banyak konsep dari George Frideric Handel, "Zadok the Priest" (salah satu Lagu Kebangsaannya), dan karya tersebut dilakukan oleh Royal Philharmonic Orchestra London dan dinyanyikan oleh Academy of St. Martin in the Fields.[1]

Pada tahun 1994, ia menggubah musik untuk Mole's Christmas, film animasi 30 menit. Dan pada tahun 1999 ia menulis dan menyutradarai Bohème, sebuah film yang didasarkan pada opera Puccini yang disiarkan oleh Five dan Artsworld. Pada 2007, Britten mengadaptasi dan menyutradarai versi film komedi Oliver Goldsmith, She Stoops to Conquer untuk Sky Arts.

Dia juga telah mengarahkan sejumlah film, termasuk film dokumenter tentang hal yang tidak berhubungan dengan karyanya yang sebelumnya, Benjamin Britten: Peace and Conflict (2013).[3]
