Lokasi Provinsi Batman

Batman adalah sebuah provinsi Turki yang terletak di sisi tenggara Anatolia. Sungai Batman mengalir melalui wilayah ini. Provinsi ini penting karena muatan reserve minyak buminya. Kilang minyak pertama didirikan pada tahun 1955. Dari Batman ada pipa minyak ke Iskenderun sepanjang 494 kilometer. Katun merupakan komoditas dagang utama pertanian di daerah ini. Sebuah rel kereta api menghubungkan Batman dengan Diyarbakır dan Elazığ. Nama Batman ini sejatinya adalah kependekan dari pegunungan Bati Raman dan tidak ada hubungannya dengan tokoh komik Batman.

Ibu kota provinsi ini adalah Batman (penduduk 266.100 jiwa). Daerah ini terutama dihuni oleh bangsa Kurdi.[1] Provinsi ini memiliki penduduk sebesar 510.200 jiwa (2010)[2] dan luas wilayahnya adalah 4.649 km².

Provinsi ini juga menarik dari titik pandang arkeologi. Pemandangan menarik lainnya termasuk biara Dervish Imam Abdullah dan jembatan Camiü‘r Rızk dan Hasankeyf.
