Penyolderan

Proses penyolderan pada kabel.

Penyolderan atau lebih spesifik disebut patri lunak (bahasa Inggris: soldering) adalah suatu proses penyambungan pada dua material atau lebih dengan cara meleburkan dan membubuhkan suatu logam pengisi ke dalam sambungan tersebut. Logam pengisi tersebut, yang memiliki titik leleh yang lebih rendah daripada logam-logam yang akan disambungkan, disebut sebagai tenol. Pada peralatan elektronik dan pemasangan listrik, solder biasanya dilelehkan menggunakan alat-alat seperti setrika solder atau pistol solder.

Penyolderan mirip dengan pematrian, bedanya suhu yang digunakan untuk melelehkan logam pengisi dalam pematrian jauh lebih tinggi dan menggunakan bahan berbeda dengan titik lebur yang lebih tinggi daripada dalam penyolderan. Suhu 450 °C biasanya digunakan sebagai pembatas antara proses yang disebut penyolderan dan proses yang disebut pematrian.

Penyolderan tidak melibatkan peleburan benda kerja, tidak seperti pengelasan. Di masa lalu dan sampai saat ini, hampir semua solder mengandung timbal, tetapi masalah lingkungan dan kesehatan semakin mendorong penggunaan logam paduan bebas timbal, biasanya dengan timah, untuk keperluan penyambungan perangkat elektronik dan pipa leding.
