NGC 53 adalah galaksi spiral berpalang yang dikelilingi cincin di konstelasi Tucana. Galaksi ini ditemukan oleh John Herschel pada tanggal 15 September 1836. Dia menggambarkan galaksi ini sebagai "sangat samar, kecil, memanjang". Galaksi ini memiliki lebar sekitar 120.000 tahun cahaya, hampir sama dengan ukuran bima Sakti.
