Magister sains

Magister sains (di Indonesia disingkat M.Si.)(bahasa Latin: Magisterii Scientiae; disingkat MS, bahasa Inggris: Master of Science; disingkat MSc atau M.Sc.) adalah gelar akademis magister yang diberikan oleh perguruan tinggi kepada lulusan program pendidikan Strata Dua.^[1] Magister sains dianugerahkan kepada ia yang telah mempelajari sains, ilmu keteknikan, dan ilmu kedokteran dalam bidang fokus keilmiahan dan matematis. Biasanya gelar magister sains diberikan kepada ia yang telah menyelesaikan tesis, tetapi hal tersebut bergantung pada masing-masing perguruan tinggi.

Gelar Magister sains diberikan pertama kali di universitas Michigan pada tahun 1858.^[2]
