Komando Distrik Militer 0709/Kebumen atau Kodim 0709/Kebumen atau yang biasa disebut Kodim 0709/KBM adalah satuan teritorial yang berada di bawah komando dan kendali Korem 072/PMK, Kodam IV/Diponegoro.

Sejarah singkat

Dalam rangka menjaga keselamatan Negara Republik Indonesia yang baru dibentuk dari Agresi Militer Belanda II (19 Desember 1948), maka pada tanggal 25 Desember 1948 dikeluarkan Instruksi Bekerja Pemerintah Militer Seluruh Jawa dengan Nomor: 1/MBKD/1948. Berdasarkan isntruksi tersebut pemerintahan tertinggi adalah Pemerintahan Militer. Semua alat kekuasaan negara di bawah militer, semua badan dan jawatan dimiliterisasi, serta berlakunya hukum militer. Pemerintah Daerah Militer (PDM) Kebumen segera dibentuk. Menjabat sebagai Komandan PDM Kebumen pertama adalah Mayor R.P.S. Rachmat selaku Komandan Komando Distrik Militer/KDM. Pada tahun 1962 Pemerintah Daerah Militer (PDM) berubah nama menjadi Komando Distrik Militer (Kodim), termasuk juga PDM Kebumen berubah menjadi Kodim 0709/Kebumen.[1]
